The first draft

Chapter 1

Atlas P.O.V

" No! No! Chef Em, it's salt I need the sugar its on the second slab"

" Chef A, there is nothing else here"

"You just have to squint a little"

"I am squinting but I am not getting any"

I see her giving an exasperated sigh. I reach over there and pull out the sugar jar from behind. And look at her amusingly. She grins at me sheepishly.

"I swear, I didn't saw it." I pull a small smile on my lips and ruffle her hair.

"Of course you didn't Em." I say moving toward the cookies again.

Last night, I told Emmy that me and her mother used to bake cookies together when we were young. From that point she is all over me to teach her how to bake cookies. Emmy is just 5 years old, but the way she talks and looks, it reminds me of lily. She is an exact copy of her. Even the way she smiles is exactly like her mother.

"Chef A" I turn behind to look at Emmy.

"Do we need more butter?" I shook my head as answer.

"No they are done. We just need to bake them now" I said while putting them in the oven.

"Oh that's great. They smell so good now only" I see her jumping up and down excitingly with a smile on my face. Then I hear car pull over in the garage, I guess Josh is back home. He and Theo were working on a project together, so he went to library with him early in the morning. Josh just got his driver's licence few weeks ago.

Josh enters the kitchen, I saw Emmy running in to his arms.

" Josh" Emmy says grinning while he picks her up.

"How is my favourite niece?" he says laughing.

"I am your only niece uncle Josh" she says grinning.

"Oh you always catch my lies don't you Emmy." I saw them talking from behind with an amused smile on my face.

They have gotten quite close over time. I still remember the first time she said his name holding onto his finger. He had almost cried after hearing it. He had got Emmy, her doll house and she is so fond of it that she doesn't even let lily touch it. She named the doll, pepper. She used to roam around with her in the whole house, saying that pepper was her best friend.

I snapped out of my thought, when I hear the oven's alarm.

"Ooo what are you guys making? it smells so good." Josh looking over my shoulder to get a look at the cookies.

"Daddy Nemo and I made cookies" Emmy answers his question. Yeahh I know what are you thinking you are also probably thinking about teasing me like Theo, who still does apparently. But you know what I am over it I actually like the nickname Emmy gave me.

I take out the cookies from the oven, just to see both of them gazing at the cookies with water in their mouth.

"You both are pathetic" I comment already laughing on both of them. " Go get your mother Emmy." I see her go upstairs to call lily. I slap Josh's hand away when I see it going towards the cookies.

"first lily" I said not unkindly.

He pouts but anyway goes to sit on the chair. I saw lily come down the stairs with Emmy in her arms.

"Come on, Mimi fast. Look what me and daddy Nemo made." Emmy says excitingly, while lily only laughs nodding her head towards her.

I went towards her, stopping in front of her just to bend down and give her a peck on her lips.

" what were you doing up there for so long? Love !" I asked not unkindly.

"Just talking to an old friend" she says amusement clear in her eyes. Because she knew I know exactly who she is talking about. I guess she was writing to Ellen again.

I looked at them, while Emmy dragged lily towards the cookies and tell her how are they.

Lily eats them then looks at me and Emmy with a wide smile.

"They are so good. They tastes exactly like when we were kids" I could see a water in her eyes threatening to come out. I went near her pulling her and Emmy into a hug.

"Of course they do they were supposed to taste same" I say with a hint of smile on my lips hidden in Lily's shoulder.

At the top is the song "everything has changed" by Taylor swift and Ed Sheeran, this song has inspired me so much to write this chapter as you can see so much has changed in lily and atlas's life this chapter instigates that.
