Chapter 3

Lily's POV

I pulled my car in the garage and started to walk towards the house. I opened the door only to be tackled by small hands.

"Hello Emmy"

"mommy" she beamed at me.

"How was your day today with your dad Ryle and uncle Marshall" I asked her. "It was good we went to the zoo."

She kissed me on the cheek then started moving back towards the living room.

" Hey, Josh" he nodded his head towards me with a smile from the sofa.

"I am going to go upstairs to freshen up can you please take care of Emmy for a while more." I asked not unkindly.

"Yeah of course we are going to watch finding Nemo" he ended with a wink. I rolled my eyes but anyway started moving towards my bedroom.

They have made a tradition to watch finding Nemo every Friday night and bonding over it. Sometime they would be join by Theo or sometimes by me or Atlas. Josh has started to look so much like Atlas that they can be mistaken for twins, if they are seen from away. But they have a huge personality difference. Josh is more sassier than Atlas.

I entered my bedroom and move towards the cupboard. It was already 8 pm, Atlas should be back in a while, maybe I should make something for dinner after taking a bath. I took my nightdress and went in for a bath. I washed my hair, it was almost 9 pm when I came out of the bathroom. When I came out, I saw a pair of blue eyes looking at me sweetly white shirt sleeves rolled up till elbows, strands of hair covering his head. I smiled back and leaned back on the bathroom door.

"Hey" I said still looking into his eyes. "You're back"

He nodded, already moving forward towards me then standing just in front of me. He took the towel from my hand and started to dry my hair.

"how was your day?" he asked.

" it was good but tiring" I answer. " mom visited, she made those favourite chocolate expresso cake of yours, delivered it to me"

" she is a sweetheart, I'll have to thank her for that later" he said with an encouraging smile.

"How was your day?" I asked.

"Just usual. I am though thinking about expanding the business more."

"What do you mean?"

"I am thinking about opening one more BIB's in the south part of Boston like a new franchise." He said smiling but I was only looking at his eyes. They were sparkling with excitement which only showed how excited he was to get start with it, which made me smile as well.

"What do you think about it?" he asked.

"I think it's a great idea. Like this we can have a restaurant of ours all over the country. But more than that I am happy to see that you are excited about it. So even if I don't know much about the business I would love to help you with all I can."

He was looking at me with adoration clear in his eyes. He was about to lean in to kiss me when we heard Josh and Emmy arguing over something loudly.

I groaned and put my head on my husband's chest.

"We are never going to kiss again without interruption."

He chuckled. " I'll go check in on them."

He started to move towards the door but suddenly stopped in his track ,walking back towards me. Then he cupped my cheeks and kissed me properly for a minute then pulled back.

"I am never going to stop kissing you"

Then he rushed back downstairs, leaving me blushing.

Someone might wonder that we are still in the honeymoon phase. But the thing is when I am with Atlas , it feels like I am Meeting him everyday for the first time and falling in love with him all over again. Like I can't get enough of him.

"can I have some icecream please after eating food mum ?" Emmy asked pleadingly.

" No em didn't you had icecream already in the afternoon it's enough sugar for today"

"Please just a scoop" looking with puppy dog eyes towards Atlas.

"Well just a scoop won't do any harm..." he trailed off after seeing the side eye glare I was standing him. "I am sorry Em maybe tommorow" looking at her with an appologizing eyes.

"Do you have school tomorrow, Josh?"

"No, lily why?"

"Can you please drop Emmy to my mother's place tomorrow for me"

"Yeah sure no problem"

"Thank you" looking at my phone when I heard the notification.

It was Ryle's message

Lily tomorrow is my off so I wanted to take Emmy for overnight. I thought I should inform you earlier.

I looked at the message and my expression dropped in a second.

I knew I couldn't refuse him so I replied him with an okay thumb emoji.

I looked up to see Atlas looking at me and I think he has realised what it was about.

I know I can't avoid it , he is her father no matter what happens he will be Emmy's life and mine as well but I just can't get peace with it.

I guess it will get better with time..

I hope that he has changed for good..

Please don't disappointe me Ryle...
