When Enid woke up Wednesday wasn't by her anymore. Today felt strange though, her chest felt tight and her stomach nervous. She thought about the previous day and she knew she had to confess her feelings now, but how, as confident as she is she seems to loose it all when she's around Wednesday.
Wednesday came out of the bathroom wearing a black tank top and fitting black jeans, gosh she had to make this even harder. Wednesday nodded to me as a good morning and I did the same. My heart beat grew faster, I have to tell her how I feel.
"Wends come here" I said
"Why?" She asked curiously
"Just take my hands and close your eyes" I said knowing I wouldn't be able to look her in the eyes if I did this.
"What is this Sinclair?" Wednesday asked but following the instructions.
As she sat by me my chest tightened and I could feel myself start to sweat a little. I need to do this. I squeezed her hands preparing myself.
"Well, there's been something I've been wanting to tell you and you don't have to say anything back but it's been on my mind for a while..." I say quickly
"Okay...what is it" Wends said squeezing my hand back reassuringly. This gave me a bit more confidence.
"Well I- I um I wanted to...ugh...I wanted to go to an amusement park with you!" I blurted out failing my mission and my heart.
"Oh..." Wednesday said this with a hint of disappointment. "Well I'll have my parents get us tickets, though I don't understand why you struggled just to say that" She added.
I can't believe I failed so hard, why wasn't this as easy as it was with Ajax. Wednesday got up and continued her morning routine.
Time skip
Wednesdays parents had gotten us the tickets and we went to the park the same day. As we walked through looking for something that would entertain us both I spotted a photo booth.
"Look Wends a photo booth!" I say pulling her into it
"How does this thing work" Wends asked as they say down inside.
"Well you just follow the instructions, right now it's asking you to select a theme" I say
[The options are: love, friends, and cool]
Wednesday presses the the love theme.
"You tryna woo me?" I ask
"In your dreams" she responds.
We do different posses and the pictures print out, I grab them and we exit the booth. The pictures were amazing and I knew I would cherish this memory forever.
Wednesday starts pulling me over to a huge and terrifying looking roller coaster.
"Woah woah woah" I saw trying to stop but she has a good grip on me.
"Scared?" She said clearly teasing me
"Yes , you see that thing right??" I saw holding back a whimper.
"Don't worry , you can hold my hand if you feel scared" she says sarcastically
I take her up on this and grab her hands and we walk into the line.
After a while waiting in the line we finally reach the front.
"Ready to fly ladies" the worker asks.
I gulp and nod. The worker directs is to a free seat and straps us in nice and secure. I squeeze Wednesday's hand. She smirks at this and says "up up here we go."
The ride starts slowly up going higher and higher, once we reach the top it pauses before blasting forward. I start screaming and shut my eyes tight feeling the cold and sharp wind on my face. We do a loop and I feel sick, the ride continues going extremely fast. Soon enough the ride ends.
As we get off I let out a breath of relief while Wednesday is standing by me with a smile on her face which is beautiful.
"Never again" I say cupping her face in my hands. She shrugs in response.
We go on a couple more calmer rides, ending on one that takes us across the park. Today was pretty good considering how it began. We leave the park and head back to Wednesdays home, I fall asleep on the ride back feeling exhausted from today.
When we arrive back I feel slightly more refreshed.
"We should do a game night" I say to Wednesdays family.
We agree on a game of charades. I decide to start and pull a paper out of a hat.
