The next day Wilbur and I dropped by the Cafe I met Puffy, the owner of the Cloudy Cafe. "Hey, you're Puffy right?" I walked up to the table she was sitting at. "that's me! How can I help you?" Puffy gave me a warm smile. "Well, I was wondering if there were any job openings available?" I asked. "Of course, we're always looking for another helping hand! What's your name?" Puffy asked gesturing for me to sit down across from her. "My name is Maria Power, nice to meet you!" I took Puffy's hand shaking it. "Okay, and why do you want a job here?" Puffy took out a pen and notepad. "Well I'm staying in town for an uncertain amount of time and I figured I should get a job." I smiled. "Okay, I'll see what you can help with around here." Puffy nodded smiling. "Didn't think getting a job would be that easy..." I muttered. "Don't worry I know why you're here," Puffy reassured. "Wha- how?!" I stammered. "I have a camera in the back room I saw everything that happened last night, besides that you have a pretty recognizable voice Ms. Steam... Don't worry your secret is safe." Puffy smirked standing up from the table. "So then you're not mad that the back room of your cafe is being used as a clinic for extremely dangerous people?" I shook my head confused. "I don't choose good or evil Maria, I chose people, whether they're villains or not they're still people." Puffy smiled. "That's something that never changes about you Puff, no matter what universe I'm in you always choose to help people, no matter what side of the conflict they're on." I sighed smiling. "So when do I start?" I turned to Puffy. "Well, we can start now if you want?" Puffy offered a big grin spread across my face. A few hours later I was helping Tommy close up shop for the night. "Let me guess you're gonna walk me home again?" Tommy raised an eyebrow as we started walking. "Yeah, also would it be okay if I stuck around for a while? Just in case..." I asked, having remembered tonight was the night that he and Tubbo would get into an argument. "I mean I don't see anything wrong with it so sure." Tommy kicked a stone into the street. We continued our banter all the way back to Tommy's place and on the ride up to his apartment. "Guys I'm ho-" Tommy froze seeing Ranboo and Tubbo changing out of their vigilante costumes. I walked around Tommy to face him there was a pain in his face, pain from being betrayed by his two closest friends. "Tubbo... Ranboo? What is..." Tommy ran his fingers through his blonde hair. "Why?!" Tommy shouted. "Why would you keep this kind of thing from me?!" Tommy's eyes started watering then, tears. Tears streamed down his face. "Tommy we're sorry... We thought by not telling you we were keeping you safe... We're sorry..." Tubbo crossed his arms. "Hey, Toms?" I asked. "You guys won't tell anyone right?" Ranboo asked. I thought back to how willing Puffy had been to keep mine and Tommy's secret before sighing. "You're secret is safe..." I nodded Tommy followed suit wiping his tears. "Can you two give us a second? I need to talk to Tommy about something quick." I asked turning to Tommy's roommates. "Sure..." Tubbo shrugged as I led Tommy outside the apartment. "I mean we might as well tell them..." I sighed. "After all we know their secret..." I added. "Fine, but if things go wrong could I stay at your place?" Tommy scratched the back of his neck. "I mean that would be up to the rest of the Syndicate, however, that means you would know who they are..." I thought out loud. "Can you call Siren or something?" Tommy asked. "I'll text him if things go south..." I assured him. "Actually I'm texting him whether things go south or not cause I'm not allowing the three of you to live in this dump any longer than necessary..." I decided. "Fine let's go..." Tommy groaned opening the door. "We have something to tell you guys..." Tommy started. Tubbo and Ranboo looked at each other and then back at us. "Okay, what is it?" Tubbo shrugged. Tommy looked at me. "How about I tell them?" I asked Tommy quickly nodded. "First of all, I'm working with the Syndicate..." I started. Tubbo looked at me mortified. "Don't worry, I'm doing it for a good cause. You two are aware of the detain not kill order yes?" Tubbo and Ranboo nodded. "Basically I'm working with the Syndicate because the Hero Commission has just thrown that out the window... Now, this also ties into Tommy's case, about a week ago Tommy found Siren bleeding out and close to death in an alleyway Tommy chose to save him, and since then Tommy's been working as a healer for the Syndicate..." I explained. "WHAT?!" Tubbo and Ranboo shouted in unison. After a few minutes of talking and explaining I promised Tubbo and Ranboo that Tommy would be fine before stepping out of the room for a minute to call Wilbur. "Hey, Maria what's up?" Wilbur asked. "Well, you know that special guest I told you about the other day?" I looked down at my silver hightops as I asked the question. "Yeah what about it?" "Well, It's gonna become three special guests, would it be okay if I brought them over tonight?" I asked. "Their current living conditions are worse than I thought." I explained. Wilbur was silent for a second most likely asking Phil for his input. "Phil says sure." Wilbur came back on. "Okay sweet could you have Techno drive over to pick them up?" I asked. "He says he'll be there in fifteen minutes." Wilbur explained. "Thanks." I hung up before reentering the apartment. "Pack your things you three you're getting picked up by a friend of mine." I pocketed my phone. "Did Siren actually say yes?!" Tommy's eyes widened. "Yup, Blade will be here in fifteen minutes now go pack." I nodded. "Let's go!" Tommy rushed to the bedroom to pack his things. "Are you guys actually going to let us live with you?" Tubbo turned to me. "Well we can't let you three continue living like this, I can practically smell the mold!" I exclaimed. "Thank you miss, but may we know your name?" Ranboo asked. "Maria Power, my codename is Steam Queen." I smiled.
