The next day I determined to get Supreme (Ponk) first. I met up with Sam and we headed over to his place. "Okay, Sam, remember don't come in until your cue, got it?" I asked as we approached Ponk's house. "Got it." Sam nodded. I knocked on the door and almost instantly it was answered. "Hello, Supreme, there's something urgent I need to discuss with you..." I sighed. Ponk seemed surprised that I knew he was Supreme but quickly brushed it off replying with. "Oh... Well if it's urgent you should probably come inside." Ponk led me to the living room and told me I could sit on the couch. "So, what did you need to discuss with me?" Ponk inquired. "I'm sure you've heard of Steam Queen yes?" I kept my eyes on the floor as I spoke. "Yeah, as far as I've heard she's a new vigilante from the East side what about her?" Ponk leaned forward in his chair, clearly curious as to where I was going with this. "I need your help..." I moved my gaze from the floor to Ponk. He stared at me confused as to what I was trying to say and as soon as it clicked in his mind his eyes went wide at the realization. "You're Steam Queen..." He pointed to me receiving only a nod in return. "But that means you're working with the Syndicate..." Ponk muttered. "I spoke with him Ponk... He misses you." I shook my head sorrowfully. "Then maybe he shouldn't have left, or at least he shouldn't have lashed out at me..." Ponk huffed clutching the metal of his prosthetic. "I didn't want to hurt you Ponk..." Sam entered the living room, his hands in his jeans pockets. "I never have, and I never will..." He finished. Ponk stared at him shocked at seeing him again on such casual terms. "I'm sorry Ponk..." Sam looked at the floor tears of guilt forming in his eyes. "I understand if you hate me, you have every right to... But just know I'm trying to make it right... There were things I had learned that week Ponk things that weren't okay things that will never be okay... That's why I left because I didn't want to be involved with what they were doing... I should get going..." Sam turned to leave. "Sam wait." Ponk interrupted causing Sam to stop just as he reached for the door. "I'm not going to fully forgive you yet... But I know from experience that you always trust your gut... And if your gut was telling you that the commission was doing something bad then..." Ponk paused sighing and grabbing Sam's hand from his pocket. "Then I trust you..." Ponk smiled. "So when do we start?" Ponk turned to me. At hearing this a huge grin spread across my face. Five minutes later we were soaring down the highway Ponk was riding on the back of Sam's bike while I was flying overhead. "What's the plan from here Steam?" Sam shouted over the roar of his bike's engine. "Next stop is the Cloudy Cafe! There's someone there that Phil figured would be willing to help us!" I shouted. "Got it!" Sam hollered. Five minutes later we were pulling into the parking lot of Puffy's cafe. I gestured for them to follow me to the alley. Sam propped his bike against the wall next to the back door which I opened with my key. "Perks of being a worker here," I explained to a clearly confused Ponk. "You two stay here I'll get Puffy." I opened the door to the main cafe. "Hey, Maria how's it going?" Foolish asked waving. "Pretty good, say do you know where Puffy is by chance?" I asked. "Most likely over at her booth." Foolish jerked his head in the direction of the back corner. "Thanks!" I speed-walked over to the booth sitting down opposite Puffy. "Oh! hello Maria! What can I do for you?" Puffy asked her usual friendly smile painted on her face. "A bit of a favor... Unfortunately, this isn't the best place to talk about it." I motioned to the very busy cafe. "Ah, it's that kind of thing I'm guessing you want to talk in the back then?" Puffy guessed I nodded in response and we made our way to the back. It would be an understatement to say she was confused as to why Daedalus and Supreme were in her backroom in their civilian clothes. "Okay, so you were serious..." Puffy sighed pinching the bridge of her nose. "Okay, so what's this favor you need Maria?" Puffy leaned against the wall. "We need your help, Maria claimed she had an idea to put a stop to the hero commission but she says she needs our help." Ponk explained. "So let me get this straight... Maria you're asking me to come out of retirement as The Captain and help you and the rest of the Syndicate take down the entire hero commission because of the corruption spreading through it?" Puffy clarified. "Yes..." I nodded. "I guess I should probably get to digging through my closet huh?" She sighed. "So you'll help us?" I asked excitedly. "Yes, I will help you..." Puffy laughed. "LET'S GO!" I yelled.
