Loud wailing echoed from the screen, the scene panned to a sobbing Walburga Black, dressed in black, kneeling in front of the Black family tapestry, the woman's hand covering a space next to a burned patch.
Regulus' eyebrows raised slightly in shock at the reaction of the woman she calls a mother. The thought of Walburga actually caring about her death came as a great surprise.
Once she moved her hand away, cradling it close to her chest as if she was holding the last part of her daughter, the tapestry revealed a skull with a pointed witches hat, the dates June 25th 1961-1979 stitched beneath the name Regulus Arcturus Black.
The scene moved to show the rest of the room filled with people all donned in black attire, the Black family and friends had all gathered together for the funeral of their youngest member.
"Why did she have to go Orion. Why!? We no longer have a Heir to continue are line. How could Regulus be so selfish." Walburga exclaimed suddenly, her husband Orion paying her no mind.
'Nope, still dear old mumsy'. Regulus thought no longer surprised, though she was saddened that she could not see her brother amongst the crowed on screen it was a long shot to think he would be at her funeral with how things had been.
The scene changed once again to show Rabastan, who had handed young Atlas to Narcissa, Evan and Barty who held flaming roses in hand standing over the empty grave of their closest companion.
Flaming roses were a Black family tradition at funerals, it insinuated the red blood flowing through ones veins turning black on their journey to the afterlife and once they had reached their destination their body no longer needed in the mortal realm turning to ash.
Rabastan Lestrange was shown, a bottle of half empty Fire Wiskey in hand, staring at nothing in particular, though if you looked hard enough you could see the slight madness hidden in his eyes which were adorned with dark, shallow eyebags.
Regulus let out a sound as if she were a child who had fallen over, Rab being the only one able to hear it, looked at her curiously only to find her with teary eyes.
She had done this. She had hurt the one person in her life she cared for most. She had driven her one true love, her soulmate, into madness.
As if hearing her thoughts Rabastan pulled her close, her head lulling to the crook of his neck, nose taking in his familiar sent calming her. His quiet words of comfort helping to calm her.
Evan Rosier was seen in a violent duel with the esteemed Auror Alistar Moody, it was neck and neck but with one well placed (and slightly illegal) curse Evan crumbled to the concrete floor of the muggle street, his last spell taking one of the Auror's eyes.
Gasps were heard around the great hall at yet another loss.
Evan staired wide eyed at the screen as if waiting for his mangled body to rise from the dead and continue to fight, though as the scene faded so did his hope of a different ending, one where Regulus was alive as well as himself.
Rosier did not blame his best friend for how anything was turning out, she was trying to help save the future of the wizarding world but sadly fate got in the way once again.
Regulus felt her lash line burn from the salty, unshed tears. She couldn't help but blame herself for the downfall of her little Hogwarts family, first the love of her life gets driven to insanity by her death, second her brother, in all but blood, goes out during a war to let off some steam and gets killed by a ruthless Aurer.
She could only hope that Barty would survive with his sanity still intact.
The group of four held Evan closer.
