Scratch that. Malia deserved a nap after the shit storm she'd been through since finding out she was a demigod.

After arriving back on the ship and informing everyone of what an asshole Hercules was, the group set off into the Mediterranean, where things were only going to get harder for them as time went on.

They traveled by air for a few hundred miles, with creatures attacking them several times an hour. A flock of flesh-eating Stymphalian birds swooped out of the night sky, and Festus torched them. Storm spirits swirled around the mast, and Jason blasted them with lightning. While Coach Hedge was having dinner on the foredeck, a wild pegasus appeared from nowhere, stampeded over the coach's enchiladas, and flew off again, leaving cheesy hoof prints all across the deck.

"What was that for?" the coach demanded.

The mere sight of the pegasus had Malia missing Blackjack. After the whole issue in Kansas, she hadn't seen the black pegasus she considered a friend, and she wondered how he was doing. But he wasn't the only stallion hiding from the team. Arion and Tempest had also been absent, which made Malia wonder: were they not allowed in the Mediterranean or did they just choose not to enter the cursed waters?

But, no matter how much Malia believed she deserved a nap or needed one, sleep was being a bitch to her. After two hours of tossing and turning in her bed, she finally pushed the covers from her body and got up. She would take an endless amount of nightmares over not being able to sleep for an hour at most.

The ship was quiet as she left her cabin, everyone else either sleeping in their rooms or patrolling the upper decks for signs of trouble. She could either head to the kitchen and get something to eat or walk the ship in hopes of it tiring her out enough for her to finally sleep.

Deciding she wasn't hungry, Malia chose a direction and started walking.

Despite having helped build the ship, Malia didn't know everything about it. She didn't know how everything worked like Leo did, and she didn't know all the intricate pieces that went into designing each room. She was sure she hadn't even seen the whole ship yet, and she hoped that by doing so, she'd tire herself out enough to finally fall asleep.
