Rilee's POV

I open the drawer, and carefully slide the knife into it's rightful slot. Closing the drawer, I spin the 12-digit lock randomly, confident that no one will crack the code. I stride out of the neatly organised room, just as I hear a knock on the door. Dammit, Rawen. Always early! I chuckle to myself, bearing in mind that where we come from, being late means being dead. I flick off the light, the and slide the bookshelf into place. You'd expect someone who is looking for me to go straight for the bookshelf looking for a trapdoor, but anyone looking for me would know that they aren't looking for an ordinary criminal. Expecting me to be smart enough, they'd look somewhere else. You could go on with this train of thought forever, but that's where I draw the line of their intelligence. If they were really clever, they'd ignore it.

"Be there in a minute!" I shout to my best friend. I'm still naked, with only a towel wrapped around my waist. I run up to my bedroom, fling the towel onto my bed and pull on a pair of jocks, a khaki pair of chinos and a white shirt. I jump in front of the mirror, and quickly comb my dark reddish-brown mess of a mo-hawk with my claws, slip on a pair of D.C sandals and head for the door.

"Rawen!" I exclaim, pulling the door open.

"Heyyy!" the muscular dragon answers enthusiastically. "Ready to go?"

I nod, and we begin to stroll down the lane towards Cherry's (pronounced Sherry's) Café, the best restaurant in town. The town happened to be a mostly undiscovered nook in Miama.

It's about 5:20 in the afternoon, the streets are bustling with life, and we aren't the only ones on our way to Cherry's. I would be lying if I said Rawen didn't turn a few heads jogging past us. Alright, even I admit he is pure eye candy. He wore a grey tank top, and his urban camo pants. His grey chest scales ran all the way up to the bottom of his jaw, his hair was a bright orange, as we're his feet and hands, but they couldn't be seen since they were in his pockets and shoes as we strolled down the road. The rest of his body was pitch black, but you couldn't miss his well built muscle tone.

The sun hung heavily above us, almost begging to dip below the horizon.

We soon made it to the café, where a garden path of led us to a secluded restaurant. It was almost romantic; I knew that Rawen hated anything romantic. He never spoke about his love life. The path opened up as it revealed a rustic looking setup of old, wooden tables lit by lightbulbs that hung on wires above us. The actual restaurant, which looked more like a tavern to me, was an old olive green colour. The paint was chipping off, but it was meant to be like that. The stars were just beginning to take their place in the lovely night sky, but my attention was drawn away from the massive nuclear reactors that hung beautifully in the sky when I laid my eyes on Christy.

She was tawny brown, her hair was long and straight, and her ears perked up out of curiosity. I could see her white belly fur since she was wearing a short white tank top, which ran up to her breasts, and also below her muzzle. She wore a short pair of ripped jeans, and bellow that a white and blue pair of Allstars. She looked at me and smiled, I smiled back. We had known each other since primary school; we were inseparable. She walked up to me and gave me a fist pump. We laughed for a second, before she walked past me to say hi to Rawen. As she walked past me, her hair was blown into my face. She smelt amazing, and she looked amazing too.

"So where's the rest of the guys?" I ask, sitting down the table nearest to the garden. An impressive oak tree stood beside us; it made for an extraordinary view when looking up at the stars.

"Oh, well Xen wasn't picking up his phone, I don't know why, and Ez said she was sick."

I tried to sigh a little, but inside I was a glad. I wanted to spend some time with Christy.
