Half hour later, not believing that she's really doing this , Marinette was sitting hidden in the bushes close to the entrance to the cave and observing the green reptile from far away. With Adrien, who firmly disagreed to run away and leave the girl alone in the forest, they agreed that they'll keep an eye on the creature, waiting for it to wake up. They had almost a panicked hope that after it'll happen it won't sniff them out, but hungry, after the nap, will go hunt somewhere in the different area of the mountain. Then they were planning to explore the place of his rest, knowing that longer walks were out of the question because of the state of the dark-haired leg. It was one of the worst and the most passive plans that she was ever a part of, and she happened to listen to Cat Noir's ideas. What could go wrong?
'Adrien!' she whispered warningly to the boy, who immediately got up from the grass and crouched beside her.
The first sign that the dragon is waking up was the closing of its mouth and accompanying murmurs. Next, the two of them witnessed an opening of the yellow eyes, stretching every limb one by one, and then the wings. A couple of stretches later, the reptile straightened and without hesitation shot into the sky, leaving the flabbergasted teenagers on the ground.
They waited for a moment for the creature to come back for a bag or a discount card, then, as quiet as they could, they walked, as for Marinette - limped, to the entrance of the cave. Now, when the sight wasn't blocked by a dragon, the girl could see the rareness of this place. She immediately knew, that it wasn't normal. Amazing crossings of stalactites and stalagmites were making rows of figures, which were depicting characters, that she couldn't identify from faraway. After coming closer to the first one, she understood who she sees before her.
'Miraculous holders' she whispered, gaining a questioning and surprised look from Adrien.
'What did you say?'
'Nothing,' the dark-haired girl innocently shook her shoulders and pointed to the biggest statue, which was standing the farthest from them, wanting to turn the boy's attention away from her. 'Look! Ladybug and Cat Noir!'
Walking by the rest of the statues, she limped to the core of the cave to see herself and her partner standing arm to arm with confident looks. The pair of heroes were also caught in the middle of nailing their famous "turtle", with which they ended their every action.
'Amazing,' she said in delight written on her face, walking around the statue. 'It's like I'm looking at the original enchanted in stone.'
'I have a feeling that Cat Noir should be bigger,' the blond murmured after a while of thinking. 'I'm sure that Ladybug is a head shorter than him, and here she's reaching to his nose.'
'Really?' the dark-haired was surprised. She had to admit before herself that she was never looking at her parter that carefully, beside that they spent a lot of time together.
Looking further she noticed that every other statue was a little smaller than this showing the current heroes of the Paris, and they were in two rows, making a road to the owners of the most powerful Miraculous.
'Who do we have here?' from the entrance of the cave came a voice. The teenagers turned around instantly to see a boy coming closer to them. He had dark brown hair, in which were light green stripes, and blue, happily shining eyes that were bringing to mind a happily splashing mountain stream. On the sight of their faces he beamed, somehow making this impenetrable darkness lighter. 'Finally, we have a chance to meet! I'm so happy!' despite his quite mature age, he was making an impression at the moment, as if he stopped in development a good ten years before.
'Ummm...' Adrien began eloquently, accordingly to age and social position, however he was silenced by the newcomer who almost jumped in place in excitement, walked closer first to the girl and reached his hand.
