3rd PERSON POV

She never expected to wake up again.

Being cannibalized by the devil that she respects was enough for her.

Her end.

Yet here she was, waking up with blurry eyes as she looked up at two out of focused faces. She's confused on where she was. Makima didn't even know what was happening or where she was. It wasn't until the faces cleared and she saw a blonde woman and a silver haired man staring at her with pure joy in there eyes.

It then dawned to her what happened.

She was reborn.

oOo

Makima—no Zero, her new name was Zero now, and she was happy with the life she had now. She had wonderful caring parents and a wonderful twin brother that cared for her even if she was different from the other children their age.

She was a little weird for a second year old, she heard the way her parents would voice their concerns in front of her, thinking she couldn't understand them. But Zero couldn't blame their concerns, she knew she was different from her sibling due to her being reborn with all her memories.

It was okay, she knew that they were only concerned because they loved her.

And Zero loved them too.

So much that she would accept any part of them. Just like their hunter job that would make them leave both her and Ichiru alone for days. It's okay because they would come back and shower them with kisses, affection, and that so unconditional love that would fill her up with so much happiness.

She wants this to never end.

Sometimes Zero would stay up to think about the new world she was in. things here where so different that she couldn't help but be in awe of it. The way that vampires existed here proved how different this world was to her own. There was an odd giddiness that she felt at living in a different world from her own where it had its different rules and hierarchy. Zero would not wait to grow up and explore this world and make it the best for her family.

"Zero," she heard her twin whisper from the other side of the room where he slept. His voice sounded off almost like when he was stuck in a problem in the schoolwork they were assigned now that they started school.

"Yes Ichiru?"

"Do you think that mom and dad think 'm weak?"

"I doubt it, I haven't heard them say anything bad about you."

"But maybe they just think it and don't speak it."

She turned around so that she could face her twin brother. "I think they just worry about you just like they do with me. It's normal for parents to worry, so don't over think it."

He frowned and she wondered if what she said was not understood by him, as it was normal for kids to worry about things. "Okay," she said startling Ichiru out of his thoughts. "Come here," she extended her arms and made space for him to lay down. Ichiru did as he was told and snuggled into her, "It doesn't matter what our parents think, we just have to prove them wrong and make them proud of us."

"How would we do that?" he asked.

"We'll become hunters, hunt bad vampires, and be the best hunter duo ever!"

oOo

There was something that Zero forgot about.

Something important that kept bothering her as she watched as her parents introduced a new man to their lives. He was supposed to teach them how to be a hunter and even look after them when their parents went on long missions from now on. She pushed what was bothering her behind her and focused on introducing herself and her brother, "My name is Zero, this is my twin brother, Ichiru."
