A soft full moon so seamlessly lured young minds, lulling them into a serene state underneath its gentle glow. A full moon invited liveliness, giving a certain kind of vivacity to a once dull weekend's night.

And yet, there was a dark side to the moon. A specter that allowed babel under its light, turned from fuzzily warm to harshly cold. Oh, the moon had many sides; how peculiar it could be. That it brought soul and viability to one, whilst ripping away any shred of humanity from another. It bore powers like it were a god of its own accord, granting to human beings the capacities only possible of God rather than mortals.

The possibility of a human becoming something animalistic had always seemed purely fiction in Danielle's mind. It was an idea that could not be grasped to her, for it simply belonged in the screens and in writing. She certainly had never been expecting to see it with her own eyes– a dog. A dog that had been her brother only moments before she blinked, allowing a fraction of time to change everything she had ever known. The secrets of the universe were unraveling, and not even by her own will.
