"This isn't who we are, Levi! You know that!"
"No, Scott, I don't! I'm not you - I've never been you and I never will be!"
"We protect those who cannot protect themselves, you remember that? You promised Chris you'd live by it, live by her words!"
"I'm not Allison fucking Argent, Scott! My eyes aren't red because I had some great willpower and incredible virtue, they're red because I'm not fucking like you! Sometimes we have to get our hands a little dirty!"
"Not us. Doing this, it just makes us just like them!"

"Some times I forget you're the only one out of us with alpha status," Cora joked, watching as Levi typed on her phone. They weren't sure why she was suddenly in Beacon Hills, and she was refusing to tell them the truth. She'd said it was because she was passing by with Jackson, but both of the Hale siblings knew that Levi Hale was never "just passing by" in the one place she had sworn to try and avoid at all costs.
"Yeah, I wish I wasn't," Levi muttered under her breath, the vibe instantly dropping as Derek and Cora shared a look. It was no secret that Levi had never enjoyed being an alpha, and the redness of her eyes just brought back memories for her that she'd rather never have experienced. From killing an alpha when she was just a teenager that was essentially groomed by Deucalion and his pack (even if she hadn't seen it like that at the time) to watching Scott turn his back on her for the last time, being an alpha hadn't really provided much comfort to Levi over the past fifteen years.
She looked up as she narrowed her eyes for a second, realising what she had just said out loud.
"No-one tell Peter I said that," Levi half-joked. "I can't bring myself to have to try and kill him, again."
Derek scoffed a little, rolling his eyes. They knew she was right though - if Peter was given the chance, even after all this time, they were sure he would take it. Levi had made sure to keep a wide berth from the man, and she even considered him one of the reasons that she tried to avoid coming to Beacon Hills. He had caused her so much pain, and the fact he constantly seemed to be re-allowed into everyone's lives had brought her hell over the years.
There was an unspoken edge to Levi's words, however. Things weren't the same as they had bene when Peter had tried to ruin her and her friend's lives as teenagers, she wasn't the same. She didn't have the weight of the McCall pack morals holding her back from dragging her claws across her uncle's neck anymore. They all knew it - and Peter did too.
Levi looked down at her phone, her eyebrows furrowing a little as a new text flashed across the top of her screen. It had been a while since she'd received a message from the boy, and a small amount of guilt crossed her as she realised that he was still worried about her after all these years.
'Something's happening in Beacon Hills. - Stiles'
She locked her phone, ramming it back into her pocket without a second thought. She knew Stiles and Lydia weren't together anymore - Cora had told her in one of her many unanswered text messages - so it was almost unsettling that Stiles knew something was wrong. Jackson had said that Lydia had mentioned Allison, which was maybe the only reason Levi had agreed to go back, but she hadn't realised that it must have been so unnerving that Stiles was told.
