"Chris, a word outside," Scott said, finally breaking his silence since Levi had entered the room. His silence had been deafening to them all, and his refusal to even acknowledge Levi showed the others that there was still bad blood between the separated couple - even if they were still legally married. Levi was pretty sure they were, anyway. She hadn't signed any divorce papers, but she knew that Scott wouldn't have had an address to send them to even if he wanted to.

Lydia and Jackson shared an awkward smile at each other as she motioned for him to step outside too. The kanima-werewolf hybrid glared at her for a moment before following after Chris and Scott, knowing that his presence was just going to infuriate the other two men. Lydia needed to speak with Levi, and even if he and Scott would still be able to hear everything from outside, it was more of a common courtesy than anything.

"Hey," Lydia said, finally turning to look at her best friend. Could she still call Levi her best friend? Lydia wasn't sure. She was sure of one thing: she was glad to see the girl was alive and in one piece. "It's been a while."

"I know," Levi muttered, moving forward after a moment and allowing Lydia to wrap her arms tightly around her. They stayed in the embrace for a while, just allowing each other to hug it out. Levi teared up as she took in Lydia's scent - almost the exact same since the day she had last seen her. The strawberry blonde sighed as she burrowed her head tighter into the crook of Levi's neck.

"I really needed you," Lydia whispered, her voice breaking a little. "I really needed my best friend."

"I know," Levi replied once more, not sure how she could ever make it up to the girl. "And I know it doesn't solve anything, but I'm here now."

Lydia nodded as she let go of Levi, clenching her jaw a little as she refused to let the built up tears fall from her eyes. She understood it a bit more now, especially after she had left Stiles. She had also cut herself off from all of their friends, and while she wasn't sure she'd really get over Levi not being there when she needed her, she understood why.

"I had to go," Levi replied, her voice low as she tried to keep it from the listening ears outside. "I couldn't break you too. I couldn't do that to you."

"You'd never," Lydia replied, wiping at her eyes quickly with her sleeve as she felt the weight of her guilt in just that sentence. They'd never really got the chance to discuss what happened that night and how it had changed their entire pack dynamic but Lydia was getting the feeling that they were going to have to bring up the old trauma and resolve it before they went much further on whatever was going on. "I didn't get it then, but I get it now."

There was a pause as Lydia looked at Levi for a moment before a lightbulb almost went off above her head. She titled her head as she noticed the way Levi's eyes flickered down to the pages of the nemeton and how her hands were anxiously rubbing together. She knew more than she was letting on.

"You've seen her," Lydia accused, her eyes narrowed as she began to understand why Levi had came back to Beacon Hills with Jackson after all this time. "Allison."
