The news of a small boy being born around noon on the thirtieth of July reached Godric's Hollow just in time for the sun to set.
A picture of the newborn was attached with his name and the date. Frank and Alice had decided on the name Neville after much consideration.

It wasn't but an hour and a half later when Ascella's water broke and suddenly all the research the men in her life had done, flew right out the window behind the owl that carried their congratulations.

She was in the bathroom getting ready for bed when it happened. Ascella felt a pop then a rush of fluid, she wasn't all that surprised.

Remus and Ascella remained the most level headed throughout the whole endeavor. He fire called madam Pomfrey and Lily while Sirius and James ran around like chickens with their heads cut off.

Lily was the first to arrive, effectively getting the two men to calm down. She kicked them out of the room when they started panicking again. "I tried to call for Marlene, but I think she's busy."

"That's alright, she'll find out soon enough."

Together, she and Remus got Ascella into bed. That's where she was when madam Pomfrey arrived.
The matron thanked Remus for his help, then promptly kicked him out of the room. She and Lily threw several charms up, one of them being the silencing charm.

They didn't need neighbors hearing the potential screams or James hearing them for that matter.

Lily came out every hour or so to give updates on the progress, though they stopped around midnight when Ascella unwillingly fell asleep.

Not even three hours later, Lily was called back into the room and it was locked thoroughly.

Ascella couldn't feel the pain she was in, but she knew it was there. She'd feel it when the pain potions wore off.
She could feel the pressure as her sons head crowned and madam Pomfrey urged her to keep going.

Lily could tell it was rather uncomfortable, by the grip Ascella had on her hand — though it wasn't long before the boy was placed on Ascella. Immediately, all the tears and changes were worth it.

Just to stare down at her son, her Harry, felt like the most magical thing in the world.

Even as he was getting cleaned up, Ascella was in awe of his small fingers and toes, the eyes that already mirrored her own (though much more innocent), the messy dark hair on his head that was every bit James Fleamont Potter, and his little buttoned nose.

Everything leading up to that moment was worth it, just to hold her son for the first time.

Ascella got all of twenty minutes alone with Harry before everyone else was allowed to come in. James immediately got to her side, showering her with kind words and love, all while memorizing every detail about their son.

In the moment, the prophecy didn't exist. Nobody wanted after the Longbottom's or the Potter's — they were just two young families welcoming their first born sons.

"Merlin, look at that head of hair." Sirius pointed out and Ascella chuckled lightly.

"That's definitely Potter hair." She said. Her voice was so full of love, it was almost unrecognizable.

"He'll definitely be a chaser when he goes to Hogwarts."
"No, He'll be a beater like his uncle Padfoot." Sirius interjected with a grin.
"Or, perhaps, he will be a fantastic seeker like his mum." Remus added from beside Sirius.

"I agree with Remus, he'll be the star seeker of whatever team he's on. . . I can see it now — he catches the snitch and wins his first match and writes to us because he knows we'll be proud of him no matter what."

"He'll be a Gryffindor, Ella. All Potter's are Gryffindor's."
Ascella sent him a look. "I don't care what house he's in, I'll be proud. . . Besides, your mum was in Slytherin, don't be an arse."

"As if any of our children would end up in Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw. . . Mum was the only good Slytherin to come from the bunch, you know that."

"I know, I also know there's nothing wrong with Hufflepuff's. . . But you're right about Ravenclaw, unless Remus heavily influences his mind, he'll likely be a part of one of the other three. It's no matter now, he's not been born for two hours and we're already talking about his school years."

Nobody mentioned the future again for the rest of the evening. The infant was passed around as everyone accepted their titles — Uncle Moony, aunt Lilypad, uncle Padfoot, mum, and dad.

"I love you, my sweet boy." Ascella whispered.
