{Neteyam's POV}
I woke up in someone's arms. I quickly jolted up but hissed at the painful feeling going through my head.
The room I was in was unfamiliar to me. There were spears hung on the walls, along with a few tribal paintings.
The arms around my waist tightened slightly causing me to look down. The arms were… teal. They looked like Silo’bovs.
I looked behind me and saw Silo’bov sleeping. He looked peaceful. His hair was out of its usual bun. I never realized how long it was.
He moved his arms causing me to flop back down onto the bed. The painful feeling in my head came back. I winced as I put my hand to my forehead.
"Silo’bov… Wake up" I whispered to him. He groaned in response. I poked his side and he slowly opened his eyes.
He blinked a few times before quickly jumping off of the bed, and landing on the floor. He looked around quickly before resting his icy blue eyes on me.
"Mind telling me why I’m here?" I questioned. "Uhm- yeah. Last night you drank too much and passed out. I brought you here so you wouldn’t get in trouble with your family"
"Thank you" "Yeah" It went silent.
He stood up and brushed himself off. "Hey, do you wanna get breakfast?"
I smiled at him "I’d like that"
I got up and followed him out of his hut. Once we got to the eating area all eyes were on us.
"Uhm, Silo’bov?" I poked his arm. "Yeah Neteyam?"
"Why’s everyone looking at us?" He looked around and sighed. "Let’s just get food, worry about that later"
We got food and started to walk back to his hut. Lo'ak and Tuk saw us and waved. "Neteyam!" Lo'ak called.
"Netty!" Tuk ran over to me and hugged me tightly. "Woah, easy there Tuk. You almost knocked me over"
"How do you feel?" Lo'ak asked. I tilted mt head, confused. "Y’know, after what happened last night?"
"How much did I have to drink?" I looked at Lo'ak. "A lot I think"
"I don’t remember what happened"
"You don’t remember Silo’bov beating the sh-" Silo’bov grunted and Lo’ak stopped talking.
"What did Silo’bov do?" I looked between the two boys. "He-he uh.. He beat you in a race. You seemed upset about it last night"
"Neteyam," Silo'bov said, looking down at me, "you should go back with your family. I’ll see you later."
"Bye" I smiled at him.
[LATER THAT DAY]
I went to the water with Aonung.
"I usually go fishing with Silo’bov, but he’s still pissed about getting in trouble"
"Getting in trouble? For what?" Aonung looked at me confused. "Last night. When he fought Al’bewn"
"Why would he fight Al’bewn, I thought they were friends" Aonung stopped walking and looked at me. "You seriously don’t remember?"
"Would I be asking if I did?" Aonung sighed. "Al’bewn was making you uncomfortable. You two were down at the beach and he wouldn’t leave you alone. Silo’bov had been watching the two of you all night. He didn’t seem happy that you were talking to him."
"He knows I can handle myself, right?"
"You couldn’t last night. Al’bewn had you pinned to the ground on the beach. I tried to stop Silo’bov, but he wouldn’t listen. He marched down the beach and started yelling at Al’bewn"
"Then what?"
"He punched him. A shit ton of times. I tried pulling him off of Al’bewn but he wouldn’t listen. He only stopped when he heard Tuk yell your name. He rushed over to you and took you away"
"He took me to his hut" I smiled, remembering waking up in his arms.
"Which is super weird, because no one ever goes in his hut"
We got on our Ilu and started riding away from the shore.
"You said he got in trouble?" I looked at Aonung. "Yeah, my father was quite upset with Silo’bov. Said he was bringing shame to the family"
"But he was defending me!"
"My father didn’t care" I looked out to the water. "Where’s Silo’bov now?"
"Best guess is somewhere in the forest," Aonung said, "That’s where he always goes when he’s upset"
Once Aonung and I finished fishing I went into the forest. I walked around for 10 minutes before I saw Silo’bov sitting on the ground.
"Silo’bov?" He looked over at me. "Why are you here Neteyam?c
"I heard about you getting in trouble this morning"
He started to fiddle with his hands. "What about it?"
"Earlier… When Lo’ak said you beat the crap out of something, he was talking about Al’bewn, wasn't he?" Silo’bov nodded.
"Why not tell me?" Silo’bov sighed. "Because I didn’t want you to remember what happened"
"Why?"
"I lost my cool Neteyam. I was about to kill Al’bewn, just because he touched you. I-i don’t know what the hell is happening to me!" He threw his hands up in the air.
"What do you mean?"
"You! You’re doing something weird to me!" He got uo and looked at me.
"I’m not doing anythi-"
"Yes you are!" He yelled pointing at me. "I-it’s you, and your stupid smile, and the nickname, and how you act. I can’t feel like this towards a guy, that’s- that’s…"
"Gay" I looked up at him, hoping he would say something nice. Silo’bov looked down at me amd sighed. "Exactly. Neteyam, I can’t feel like this. I shouldn’t. Stay away from me, please."
He got up and walked away from me. I felt tears well up in my eyes. Why was I letting him have such an effect on me?
