Jake was in shock. I felt the tears fall harder down my face, and my breathing was getting ragged.
“An-and I know that Neteyam isn’t that kind of guy, but I can’t let that happen again. I-it was t-”
I choked out a sob. My shoulders started shaking. Jake quickly came over and wrapped his arms around me.
“It’s all my-my fault!”
“Hey ney no. Don’t even think for a second that it is Silo’bov. It wasn’t your fault, you were a victim”
“But I didn’t stop it. I-i couldn’t. I-”
The more I tried to talk, the harder I cried. Talking about her always made my heart hurt. I started hyperventilating.
“Silo’bov, I need you to breathe”
“No, I ca- I can’t! I need-”
“What do you need SIlo’bov? Tell me and I’ll get it”
“N-Net-” I choked out another sob.
“Neteyam?” Jake asked, looking down at me
“Pl-plea-se”
He nodded and touched something on his necklace. “Neteyam?”
<Yes?>
“Get on your Ikran, fly to the east border of the reef, quickly.”
<On my way>
Within two minutes I heard an Ikran cry. I heard someone landing on the rock and Jake sigh.
“Silo’bov?” Neteyam questioned
Jake nodded and patted my back. I felt a smaller hand on my shoulder and Immediately turned around and threw my arms around Neteyams torso.
“Hey, hey, hey, what’s happening?”
“I didn’t wan- I didn’t want to I-i promise!”
“Didn’t want to do what Silo?” Neteyam asked as he rubbed my back. My face was shoved into his shoulder and I was sure that it was drenched by now.
I took my head off of his shoulder and stared into his breathtaking golden eyes.
“I was f-forc- I didn’t want to I- Please I’m not- I-”
I couldn’t think straight. My words kept getting mumbled in with my sobs. I squeezed my eyes shut and wanted nothing more than to disappear. I hated being weak in front of people. I hated acting like a baby when I was a grown ass man.
Neteyam grabbed my face, “Silo, look at me”
I shook my head no. I couldn’t look at him. I couldn’t let him see all of the pain behind my eyes. Because what if it scared him off? What if he ran away? I can’t let that happen.
“Silo.” He said more sternly.
I slowly opened my eyes and looked at him.
