It was the next day and I stayed laid down not wanting to move. Today was the day I was leaving my home and my friends. I decided I better not waste anytime so I could go tell all of my close friends goodbye.
It took about an hour and a half to cover the cave, but then it was time to cover the lab. All of my dearest friends were there, but the person I dreaded the most to tell was Norm. I knew he would be heartbroken but so would I. I called for Oiya and got onto her carefully, remembering that I still had a severe injury. We flew to the lab but I just stayed sitting on her not wanting to go in. I took a few deep breaths and prepared myself.
Once I had finally got off of Oiya I began walking towards the door. I walked inside and stood there looking for Norm, once I had spotted him tears began pooling in my eyes. He then turned around staring back at me.
"Tsalwi?" Norm questioned as I began to ball my eyes out.
He quickly ran over towards me hugging me tight.
"Hey, hey, hey, what's wrong?" He asked in a whisper.
"I need to tell you something" I whispered back.
He nodded and pulled me into an empty room and I began to tell him everything. A single tear traced down his face when I had finished. Norm may have been a big baby but I had never seen cry.
"No you can't leave, I won't have anyone to talk to anymore" he said trying to stay strong.
"I would if I could Norm, but I don't have a choice" I spoke back as a new set of tears formed in my eyes.
We sat there hugging each other for a while not saying anything. He was my closest friend I had ever had. We always told each other everything like who we liked, secrets that we were told, and we gossiped a lot. I had always seen him as my big brother, and he seen me as his little sister. I never wanted that to change, but I was practically being taken away from him.
Our time together was soon ended as we heard horns blow.
"Well, I guess it's time for the ceremony. Are you going?" I asked sadly.
"Of course. I have to give you good bye hug dummy." He responded trying to cheer me up, but nothing could cheer me up at this moment.
"I'll see you later then" I said while walking out of the room and headed towards Oiya. I quickly flew back to the cave so I could get my things packed up onto Oiya.
When I arrived at the ceremony I had walked up and stood beside Neteyam, so I was closest to my parents. That's how we always stood at ceremonies, from eldest to youngest. Around the end of the ceremony Tarsem was selected to be the next clan leader in replace of dad. Tarsem had then walked up to me and put a head piece on me that meant I would be his mate if my parents hadn't returned.
-The headpiece:
I was shocked at this information. Why didn't my parents tell me this? I mean I wasn't to upset at the fact that it was Tarsem since we had always felt for each other, but this was being forced upon me, and it would only happen if my parents didn't return.
It was now noon and the ceremony had finally ended. Me and my family were now saying our last goodbyes to our loved ones when Norm ran up to me.
"I told you I wouldn't let you leave without a goodbye hug" Norm said as he hugged me tight.
"I'm gonna miss you Norm." I said.
"I'm gonna miss you too Wi." He responded using my nickname.
"Promise me that you will tell me if anything bad happens" I said staring at him.
"I promise" he said with one last hug.
"Come on Tsalwi, we need to leave soon" mom said while getting on her Ikran.
I said one last goodbye to Norm and walked over to Oiya but before I got on her, someone had grabbed my hand. I turned around to see Tarsem. He helped me get onto Oiya so I could avoid brushing my injury against her.
"Be careful." He said, sounding emotionless.
"I will." I replied back.
Dad took flight first and we all followed, I made sure I was behind everyone so I could watch to see if Neteyam or Lo'ak tried to do anything stupid.
We flew a little farther before we took one last look at our home.
-Time Skip-
After a while of flying I began to get lost in thought and before I knew it we were flying over beautiful blue waters. It was the most amazing thing to look at. But after a while I saw hundreds of teal colored Na'vis staring up watching us. They all jumped into the water and were swimming towards what looked like a village.
"Tsalwi you land first then the rest of us will follow behind" my dad shouted while pointing at a flat sand area where people began to gather.
"Why do I have to go first dad?" I questioned.
"Other than me and your mother, you are the worrier of the family, you need to start learning how to lead." Father said.
I did not want to do this but had to anyway. I put a serious look on my face and began to dive down. Once I had landed I slowly got off of Oiya trying my best not to hit my thigh that still had a wound on it.
I began walking forwards as the rest of my family landed behind me. I got weird stares and people kept looking at me then my family. Dad and mom stood infront of me while Neteyam, Lo'ak, Kiri, and Tuk stood around me. I had then noticed two boys walk out from the crowd and the tall one was staring at me, so I stared back waiting for him to look away. When he looked away I had noticed a beautiful girl walk out from the water. Lo'ak couldn't take his eyes off of her. I chuckled as Lo'ak said hi to the girl and she giggled. She then gave me a warm smile, I returned one in favor. Could this be my first friend here?
"Someone has a crush" I joked, Neteyam laughed and Lo'ak glared at me. I had then noticed that someone was laughing so I turned around and saw the tall boy that was eyeing me earlier laughing with his friend, and pointing at our tails. I hissed at them. The girl that we had seen earlier came over and slapped their hands and told them to stop. I had then noticed a man who I assumed was the leader fly over us. He had a broad chest with many tattoos all over him, he was also carrying a spear. He landed in the water and got off of the creature, as he was walking up I had noticed a woman walking from the crowd and eyeing us hard.
The tall boy and the beautiful girl looked exactly like the two. I then knew that they were siblings. Great.
