Chapter 8

                                                                                    A Normal Day...

Hima and Junko are talking about the gossip going on around the campus

"Isn't she cute? They say she comes from a wealthy family!" says junko with excitement

"Oh, Whatever... You know I don't care about these things" said Hima being utterly uninterested in the topic

"Of course, you wouldn't be interested, Miss Heart-Killer sibling!" says Junko teasingly.

As they are discussing, someone calls them from behind,

"Hima! Junko! Wait up you, guys!" says Akihito as he approaches

"There comes another Heart-Killer!" says junko as she giggles

"What were you guys talking about?" asks Akihito with visible confusion.

"Nothing important. Don't worry" replies Hima.

"Anyway, I came here to tell you that sho won't be coming to school today," says Akihito 

"And why is that?!" asks Hima in worry. 

Akihito tries to calm Hima down as he further explains, "Actually, his mom is a little sick and he also has an important exam. He sounded stressed on the phone".

Hearing what Akihito said, Hima finally saw a chance to help Sho somehow as she said, "I'll go to his house and take care there!" 

"Hima, Taking care of a house is not child's play," says Akihito trying to explain to her the depth of it.

"I know that very well... But we can't just sit and watch right?" asks Hima

"You are right..." Akihito replies reluctantly, knowing Hima's stubborn personality...

As the last class ends, Hima calls her mother to inform her about the plan she made and she walks straight to Sho's house. She knocks on the door and Mrs Saikawa opens the door coughing...

"Oh! Hima! How are you dear?... If you're here for Sho, Then he's not home right now" says Mrs Saikawa as she tries hard not to show her fragile condition.

"No Ma'am, I came here to meet you... Akihito told me you weren't well so I came to check on you" says Hima as she helps Mrs Saikawa to her room...

After taking Mrs Saikawa to her room, Hima cleans up the house and makes some hot soup for Mrs Saikawa. She calls Hima to her room to talk.

"Is there something you need Ma'am?" asks Hima in curiosity

"Come here dear... Have a seat..." Says Mrs Saikawa warmly

Hima sits on the chair close to the bed as Mrs Saikawa gently holds her hands as she speaks...

"Well, I know how hard you two have been trying to hide this secret but I guess Sho forgot I am his mother. I can see it in his eyes... That warmth... That shine... after you came into his life, he seems more chilled and relaxed. Unlike before, he is trying to open up in front of others and not just sit around in a corner. You are the one who brought these changes in him and I can't thank you enough for that..." said Mrs Saikawa as tears poured down her eyes

"I-I didn't do anything, Ma'am! and I think you've got the wrong idea!" says Hima as she panics

"You can't hide it from a mother darling... It's pretty obvious. But promise me... that you will always take care of my soft kid, I can't see him heartbroken again... please..." says Mrs Saikawa tightly grabbing Hima's hand

"It's my promise, Mom! I will take care of your son" says Hima as she cries

They both cry for a while and decide to keep their conversation a secret from Sho. Door knocks... It's Sho as he looks in shock to see his Girlfriend and Mom talking like mother and daughter.

"What are you doing here Hanazono?" asks Sho with genuine confusion

"Oh! Saikawa-San! You're back. Akihito told me about your mom's condition so I came to check up on her" says hima 

"Oh... Thanks for that! Let me drop you home" says Sho as he smiles

"No that's okay. take care you two!" says Hima as she winks at Mrs Saikawa

After Hima leaves Mrs Saikawa asks Sho 

"My, My... Isn't she the cutest Sho?" 

"MOM!!" screams Sho trying to hide his Embarrassment...
