in a neighborhood as small as theirs, supply for gossip was scarce. anything strange that happened overnight spread like wildfire within hours, which was why it wasn't that much of a surprise that by the time monday morning came around, all everybody could talk about was the boy named luca kaneshiro from class 2-3.

luca kaneshiro's name had been infamous since the very first day he stepped foot in the university. majority of his reputation around school had been built purely on the number of fights he had gotten himself into within the first five months of the school year.

based on what y/n could gather from the loud chattering around her, last week wasn't any different.

to nobody's surprise, luca kaneshiro had gotten himself into another brawl last friday while afternoon lectures were still ongoing. as far as the rumors went, he sent several upper classmen to the hospital. the reason he wasn't currently attending any of his classes wasn't because he was skipping out on them like he usually did, but because he received disciplinary action and got suspended for the rest of the week.

why he got into another pointless fight, y/n didn't know nor did she actually care. her bottom lip caught between her teeth, she scribbled down a few more notes into her notebook, muting out the annoying harmony of voices echoing around the cramped lecture hall.

she never understood why everyone was always so engrossed in other people's business, but in a part of the city as quiet as theirs, she couldn't really say she blamed them. nothing much ever happened, so it didn't really come as a surprise that everyone was desperate for something interesting to come along.

"i heard he was laughing while he was kicking all the upperclassmen around."

"he beat asahi too, didn't he? he was the captain of the judo team."

"doesn't he also hang out with scary people? that akuma kid's pretty intimidating too."

by the looks of it, luca kaneshiro's the current victim to fall under the school's desperate attempt at finding new things to talk about.

shaking her head, she leaned back on her desk and stretched her arms up for a bit. none of it really mattered to her anyway.

unlike the students bustling around the room searching for gossip, she had better things to do. in order for her to keep her scholarship, she had to be completely focused.

just before she could tackle the last thing on her planner, the sound of someone calling her attention made her look up her desk.

it was her professor. "miss l/n," mr. kang called her name again, his glasses reflecting the sun that was already starting to set outside.

she arched a brow.

sighing through gritted teeth, she stepped into the apartment building with soggy socks and a dripping umbrella. the violent pattering of the rain outside ceased once she closed the glass doors behind her with a quick kick of her foot.
