Those waves were calling her name, but she did just kill somebody so maybe she should take a few minutes. She slowed her pace down and dropped the rock she had been squeezing in her hand.
Kamari had decided it was best to go home and get some supplies before heading back out, maybe even grab her board off the ground and catch a few waves before everything that had just happened became too real.Suddenly it hit Kamari.
"Oh shit! I left my damn window open." The brunette girl breathed out. She didn't know how many more of those people eating monsters were roaming the streets, but she just hoped they hadn't welcomed themselves inside of her bedroom.
As the young girl approached her small bedroom window she heard a noise from inside. 𝘚𝘩𝘪𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘨𝘰𝘵 𝘪𝘯! She thought at first.
Kamari peered her head in the side of the window half expecting her once pretty and bright room to be blood covered and ruined.
However there was no monsters or blood, there was something even worse lurking inside of the girls blue painted bedroom. Her parents.
Kamaris parents weren't your typical "I love you." Type of parents, they were more or so a "why were you ever born." Type deal.
You may think that would bother Kamari, but it never did. The violence towards their own daughter was what got her.
Every night when the girl was 13 she had to do the dishes for her parents. Kamari always agreed to do them and never missed a night, seemingly pleasing her parents.Until one Friday night when she stayed out late and came home too tired to function enough for dishes, "I'll do them in the morning." She had told herself before climbing in bed and pulling her blanket over her cold body. Kamaris comfort didn't last long as she heard footsteps approaching from the hallway. She tried to listen for whose footsteps they were and matched them to her dad.
The door of her dark room flung open and Kamari was startled by the door hitting her wall, the handle going directly through the dry wall.
The light was turned on by her dad as he slowly walked over to her small bed."Why aren't my dishes done?" He asked in a serious tone.
"I'm sorry father, I was tired and just wanted to sleep." She explained to the man who was now clenching his fists tightly.
"That is no excuse young lady!" He snapped.
The girl new what was about to happen and prepared herself for everything to come.
"Dad I'm so sor-" her sentence was cut off by a hand moving swiftly across her face, leaving her skin red and her nose bloody.Tears brimmed her eyes but she new it would only be worse if she cried. Her father didn't like crying.
The tall man walked out of her bedroom, slamming the now half broken door behind him.
𝗘𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗳𝗹𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸
Kamari snapped out of her thoughts as she took one last look at her bedroom and picked up her pace again, running as fast as her legs could carry her.
Kamari was never going back there, she was free now.
