Raven went ahead of me and made her way to the bridge alone. It's not that everyone doesn't know what there's something between us. That didn't mean that either of us wanted to deal everyone's jokes at the moment. And most of them were still pissed at me and I didn't need that to fall on Raven to. I still had a little time and I went to check on Madi. Man I couldn't wait to wake her up. I think that was the best part about cryo, I didn't have to miss her, Raven, or anyone. She was still snug as I bug asleep in her chamber.

"Ah! There you are. We'd all wondered where you'd gotten off to," Jordan smiled as I walked into the mess hall. "Checking on Madi."

"Yeah," I answered.

I mean. Technically is wasn't a lie.

"My dad preserved this for when we woke up. I'm told it doesn't taste very good, but since it's all I've ever eaten—"

"Thanks," I smiled as I accepted the bowl of algae from him.

"Your mom's not touching hers, by the way."

"She's worried about Kane," I sighed. "I'll go talk to her."

"Kane. I forgot. Uh, stay here," he stuttered and ran off to go do something.

"Have you seen Shaw?" Emori asked. "You know them man you and your mother turned over to be tortured my the enemy."

I looked over at her and sighed before Murphy piped up. "Now, for Kegan, we call that a Tuesday."

"Easy," Echo snipped looking at the pair.

"He did the right thing in the end," Raven agreed, giving me a sorrowful look.

"No, I haven't see him," I sighed and sat down by my mother.

Raven may have forgiven me, but she wouldn't even look at my mom. I don't know what happened between them, but she has always been closer to my mom then I have. Raven looked over at me once more, before turning back to her conversation with the others.

"Hey...Mom you've gotta eat. It could be a while before we find a food source."

"What I need is a source for propofol or pentobarbital," she sighed, grabbing onto my hand.

"Will first culture algae do?" Jordan asked, bring a tray over to us. "My dad wanted me to give this to you."

"The stuff Bellamy used on Octavia?" I asked.

"Exactly," Jordan nodded. "The first generation produces coma. He was hoping you could use it to save Kane."

"Thank you," mom smiled at him. "Take Jackson to the ground. I'll wake up Cass to assist me."

I saw down next to Raven and held her hand in mine. I could see the others looked surprised when she leaned back into me.

"What did I miss?" Shaw sighed as he walked into the room.

"Nothing," Bellamy rasped. "Take a seat. Okay everyone. We know Eligius III was a colonizing mission. According to the file, the mother ship went to five planets that met necessary conditions for life, dropping mission teams on each one. Monty picked planet Alpha for us because it's the closest and probably the most like earth."

"I'm sorry...probably?" Murphy questioned.

"We have to assume they couldn't know for sure until they got here. We can scan the atmosphere from the bridge," Shaw explained bluntly.

"Actually we can't," Jordan interrupted, "None of the equipment we used to monitor Earth is working. I'm guessing it's interference from the ionosphere."

"Bottom like is, we won't know if it's survivable until we get down there," Bellamy sighed.

"Sounds familiar," I muttered.

"What about radio signals?" Raven asked. "Anything from the ground that says the mission team survived?"

Bellamy shook his head. "No radio signals."

"Likely also the ionosphere," Jordan chirped. "There is an ultra-high-frequency ping on radar, faint but—"

"A rescue beacon," Shaw interrupted. "We used them on Eligius IV to—"

"Great!" Emori interrupted. "If there's a beaker down there that means someone's down there right?"

"Not necessarily, they're solar so—"

"They can last forever," Raven finished. "How long ago did Eligius III get here?"

"It's hard to tell since they never radioed back. But best estimate—200 years, give or take," Jordan explained.

"That's a long time to wait for a rescue," Murphy chimed in.

Everyone was silent for a moment before Echo spoke up. "I trust Monty."

Everyone nodded before Bellamy spoke again. "Great, then it's settled. We land at a distance, give us time to acclimate. We'll wait for them to come to us."

"Let's talk about guns," I started. "It we have them, we'll use them."

"We're taking guns," Bellamy spoke a little to quickly and I shot him a glare. "We're also taking nonleathals. Now Eligius IV had gas grenades and shock buttons to control the criminals. We won't shoot first this time."

"In that case, Kegan should stay here," Murphy snarked.

"He's not staying here. Raven is," Bellamy stated.

"What?" She counted moving away from me. "Like hell I am."

"Look," he sighed. "We can't take both our pilots and since we'll be flying blind until we're below the ionosphere. It has to be Shaw. That's not all. Jordan, you're staying, too."

"Me? Why?" He asked sadly.

"I know it's hard," I sighed standing next to Bellamy. "But your parents asked us to keep you safe. We have no idea what's waiting for us down there."

"Which is why we should take our best fighters," Echo spoke up.

"My sister is the last person I trust not to shoot first, she stays on ice with everyone else until we know what we're dealing with."

"And if it's too late by then?" Echo countered, holding Bellamy's gaze.

"Fine," he sighed giving in. "I'll wake up Miller. Good. Say your goodbyes and head to the transport ship."

"Welp," Murphy stood up with a smile. "I call shotgun."

Everyone made there way to the bay after Miller was woken up and updated. After I arrived, I saw Raven hugging Shaw goodbye. I honestly wasn't jealous, I wasn't. I trust Raven and Shaw wasn't a bad guy. He was just a guy who fell in love with a girl. I get why he hates me, but I'm glad that they're okay. When she saw me coming, she let him go and gave me a kiss before stepping back.

"Alright everyone load up!" Bellamy called.

The team assembled for the mission was a blend of skills and experiences: Bellamy, Shaw, Jackson, Miller, Emori, Murphy, and myself. We were a patchwork of survivors, each carrying our own burdens and hopes into the unknown.
