Hidan and Kakuzu were shown to their rooms by Magna and made themselves comfortable. Once they were, they sat in a meditative position and closed their eyes. They soon saw the silhouettes of the other Akatsuki members, each standing on top of one of the fingers of the Gedo Statue. Pain saw everyone was present and said, "I see that everyone has gathered. Very well, let's begin our weekly meeting." During the last meeting the Akatsuki held before separating to fulfill their assignments, Nagato had declared that every week they would hold a meeting to discuss what progress they had made during the 7-day interval. Nagato began the meeting by having the members explain what were the squads they joined were like.

Nagato said, "Kisame and Itachi, what is your captain and squad like?" Itachi told their leader of their first interaction with the Golden Dawn.

   Flashback

Kisame, Itachi, and the black-haired boy were led to the Golden Dawn's base by their captain, William Vangeance. While walking through the halls, the shinobi overheard the other members speak ill of them, "Why would Captain Vangeance let those two commoners into the Golden Dawn?" "Especially that fish man. What is he, some kind of pet?" "He should go back into the ocean where he belongs." Knowing that they were talking about him, Kisame turned to the ones who insulted him and lunged at them, punching, kicking, and kneeing the arrogant magic knights, and causing them to cough up blood. Itachi said to his partner, "Kisame, there was no need to do that." "Maybe, but I despise people who judge others so stereotypically, and they need to learn how to show respect." "I apologize for their behavior. As you know probably can tell they are royals and nobles, they believe the world revolves around them. Though that is not the reason I let them join the squad. I want to make something clear; I don't care if you are from an aristocratic family or not, all that matters is that you use your power for the benefit of Clover Kingdom." The captain said with a smile. The two shinobi were amazed to learn that their squad captain was such a humble man and were glad they joined the Golden Dawn. Their attention then turned to the black haired boy who was still in awe of how easily Kisame took down those aristocrats who badmouthed him. "You should shut your mouth before you swallow a fly." Kisame said to the boy and he snapped back to his senses before commenting, "I'm honestly amazed you took them down without using any magic." Itachi replied, "We were trained in to fight with our body and mind at a very young age. In fact, where we're from magic is a completely unknown concept, so we don't rely on it as much as you do." This surprised both Vangeance and the black haired boy. "I don't believe we had a proper introduction. I'm Kisame Hoshigaki, a shinobi of Kirigakure, a village from a far off continent." "Itachi Uchiha, a shinobi from Konoha, on the continent as Kisame." "Yuno, from Hage village. what do mean 'shinobi'?" Itachi replied, "That is a subject for another time. Right now, let's get some rest, we all had a long day." "Agreed, we can pick up this coversation tomorrow. For now, I'll personally show you to your rooms." The three of them nodded and the captain led them to their rooms.

  Flashback over

"I see, while the captain is a humble man, much of the Golden Dawn is full of morally bankrupt aristocrats. It will definitely be a challenge to change their views of the world. Moving on, Deidara, Sasori, Tobi, what about your captain and squad?" Nagato asked. The artist duo and their comedy relief explained their interactions with Aqua Deer.

  Flashback

The three Akatsuki members had just arrived at the base of Aqua Deer with their new captain, Rill, who started up a conversation by saying, "Hey back at the entrance exam, you said that you joined my squad because you would rather be around a fellow artist, right? Then, I was curious about what your views on art are. How do each of you define art?" Deidara started by explaining his view, "Personally, my view of art is that it's not beautiful because it lasts, but rather it is a fleeting sight that springs to life then vanshing in a moment. My art revolves around explosions as it follows that principle." Rill replied, "So you view the sight of explosions as art? I can see why you think so, I've always loved seeing fireworks during festivals." Sasori explained his view of art, "My view is quite the opposite of Deidara's, I believe art is eternal beauty. Something that would last and retain its beauty for generation after generation." The red-haired shinobi pulled two scrolls from his pouch and unrolled them. He poured his chakra into them and a cloud of smoke bursted from them, revealing two human sized puppets, one with red hair and the other with long brown hair. Amazed by what he saw, the Aqua Deer captain excitedly asked, "Woah, what was that?! Where did these puppets come from?!" "Where we're from, we don't use magic. Instead, we use a completely different power, but that's not important now. My family was always full of experts in crafting and controlling puppets, the puppets we use are specially made for combat. I made these when I was little, the very first puppets I ever made. The one with red hair is called the Father, and the brown haired one is called the Mother." Rill gained a curious look on his face and asked, "Wait, were these were modelled after your parents?" Sasori nodded and explained, "My parents were on a trip outside of my home village, and unfortunately they both died. My grandmother raised me on her own, but I still felt lonely without my parents. To cheer me up, my granny taught me to play with puppets and taught me how to make them. These I modelled after my parents in a hope to ease the loneliness in my heart. The thought was that even if their flesh died, they would still live on within these puppets, always watching over me. When I meet someone who makes a lasting impression on me, I make a puppet that resembles them so that they would continue to exist after death. Guess that makes me weird, huh?"
