john entered the diner, he scanned the restaurant before setting his eyes on a table with a woman that had short brown hair. she still looked the same to john, except her hair grew out a bit longer.
"elle" john answered
"didn't think you were making it, took you long enough"
john didn't answer, except calling the waitress over to place an order for coffee.
"why did you call me?" john asked
"i wanna know how our girl's doing" elle answered, reaching out to john's hand
john snatched his hand away in disgust before telling elle that barbie wasn't his.
"she's your little girl"
"i had two kids with my wife, you were just some-"
"what? some chick you laid steam off? i left my daughter with you because it was for a the best, the least you can do is let me know that she's doing well"
john stares at elle for a moment before finally saying that barbie was doing alright, she was starting first grade and. elle smiled as john shared with her the key moments that sam and dean probably made him memorize.
"what about your boys? they treating her like their own sister?"
john nods in response, elle smiled for her daughter before she started talking about her own brothers but john cut her off.
"is there anything else you want?"
"fine, fine, i'll cut you short. i got this for my kid, give it to her, will you?"
elle handed over john a wrapped gift, he stares at it in confusion before elle said that john can claim it as his own. finally elle got up and wished john goodbye, giving him a kiss on the cheek which caused him to grimace but she said: "give that to barbie from me"

when john returned to the motel room, he gave barbie the gift saying that someone got it for her. barbie smiled as she grabbed it and opened it up.
"ooh a CD player" it was pink with rhinestones and had headphones attached to them.
dean asked who got it for her, john answered her mom.
"doesn't she wanna see barbie?" asked dean
"heck if i know, i doubt she cares" john answered
dean wanted to answer that it's not like he cares for barbie either but instead, he stays shut and watches his sister demonstrating the gift to sam.
