I like to headcanon that Grumpus fur works kinda like a sea otters where it had one layer that absorbs the water and keeps it on that layer while they have another layer that is used for warmth. There fur is resistance to fire but only for 30 seconds and your done for, unless someone can find a loophole and keep it burning more than a minute without them actually burning alive.
