8 YEARS LATER
I hear a lot of laughing and a lot of music. It sounds like a party. Someone comes upstairs tot eh room I was in.
Z: Hi Hugo. Its been 8 years and you still haven't woken up yet. Listen I just wanted to talk about what happened that night. Im sorry I didnt listen to you. I should've and maybe you wouldn't have hated me so much.
My eyes open. I grab Zach and bite him. I run out the door and head to the school. Alaric sees me and he stares at me.
H: Where is she?
Alaric: Hope?
H: Yeah.
Alaric: She moved out 8 years ago.
H: 8 years?
Alaric: Yeah. She's still at the house you guys bought.
H: What year is it?
Alaric: 2040
H: It cant be.
Josie comes down the stairs.
J: Hugo!
H: WHO are you?
J: It's me Josie.
H: Josie? What the hell happened to you?
J: Well I thought I killed you.
H:Josie I need you to drive me to Hope's place.
J: Okay.
Josie drives me to Hope's hose and she opens the door.
Ho: Hugo!
L:Who's at the door- Dad?
H: Liam?
L: I dont want him here.
H: Liam!
L: No dad!You just took off without saying goodbye for 8 years. you show up now?
H: It wasn't on purpose.
L: Bullshit!
Ho: Liam! Dont talk to your dad like that.
L: His tribrid ass can go back to where he was.
h: Liam please.
A: Liam who's at the door?
H:Aiden?
A: Dad?
H: Hi.
A: THATS ALL you have to say after 8 fucking years?
H: Im so sorry. It was only supposed to be a year. hope tell them.
Ho: Hugo. its been 8 years. where have you been.
H:The same place I was.
L: Oh so fucking rehab again.
H: Is that what you told them?
Ho: Yes. I didnt want to tell that that their father was desiccated for 8 damn years and I didnt know why. I actually believed that you died at one point.
L: Wait what? Is this true.
H: Yes. Can I come in so we can have a talk?
Ho: yeah.
I head inside the house and Liam, hope and I sit at the table in the dining room.
L: Talk.
H: Liam- im so sorry. I really didnt think it had been that long.
L: You had left us.All of us. We needed you. I needed you.
H: I know. I couldn't be any use to you if I was dead.
L: What?
H: That's why I was desiccated. I tried to kill myself. three times the night I left.
L: Dad-
H: It's okay. You need to know why I was gone for 8 years. Daniel, Zach, Jonah, and Jack all had to stop me from killing myself. Jack doesnt like me very much. He's always had it out for me. He told me to cut the bullshit because nothing but a drug addict. I was and I let that sink in. Everyone in my life always told me that I was worthless and shit like that. I thought it would make everyones life easier. I knew Zach was sired to me but I didnt care and still tired to kill myself. I figured out after the first time it would be better for me to be desiccated because Zach would still be alive. nobody was listening to how I was feeling and just kept reprimanding me. Eventually Josie did the desiccating spell but instead of for one year she accidentally did it for 8.
Ho: That wasn't her fault. I went back and did it for 7 more years after that.
L: Why?
Ho: because I knew after I tell you this you might hate me.
H: Hope-
Ho: Daniel he re-married.
H: And? I made it clear that im over him.
Ho: Hugo he married Brianna.
H: What?
Ho: yeah. Im so sorry
L: Dad?
H: How?
Ho: They got married 3 years ago. They ended up raising Chrystina.
H: Jonah's baby?
Ho: Yeah.
H: Okay. Ive missed a lot in the past 8 years.
L: Clearly.
H: Liam look im sorry but I probably wouldn't be here if it weren't for Josie and Hope. You may not believe me because I never let you see me in pain. so let me show you.
