Jay had finished all his homework, like always, even though he doubted any of it was right. However, he'd woken up late, so he didn't have as much time to get ready. So, here he was, walking to his first class, in his striped t-shirt and basketball shorts.

Suddenly, a familiar brown face, that was going cross eyed and making duck lips, appeared. Jay laughed and punched Carlos' arm playfully.

"Ow!" Carlos yelped, even though Jay knew it didn't hurt him, "Good morning to you, too!" Jay laughed.

"Should I kiss it better?" Carlos bat his eyelashes and mocked a girl, by dropping his wrist.

"Maybe just a peck on the cheek," he giggled in an annoyingly high pitched voice.

Jenna rushed to get ready,  throwing on a t shirt and jeans and tying back her hair.  She realized that she forgot to do her homework. Jenna grabbed her backpack and resolved to do it in study hall. Jenna was driving,  driving faster than she should but she needed to make it to school.  She never thought she wouldn't.

Jay sat down in the front, where Mrs. Julius, the ancient, yet humorous, English teacher liked him to sit, mostly because he'd always talk with Carlos in the back, but also because she liked that he payed so much attention in class, but wasn't anal about school at the same time.

"Welcome to class, everyone," she began, in that cracked voice of hers. She was even older than the librarian! "I see Jenna isn't here... " There was a sniff of disapproval in her voice. Mrs. Julius always had something against her, but Jay couldn't help feeling worried. He knew Jenna wouldn't skip school... was she ok?

Jenna heard the squeal of tires. She stopped at the stop light but another car ran it. Straight into her. The first thing that happened was the glass shattering. Then the door crumpled in. The last thing she saw was the car flying. Her car was turning head over head. It landed upside-down. Everything went black.
