Waiting for the King

The bride looks down sadly. She nods. "Yes. I will abide by it. Do my duty.. "
"Good" the maid smiled. "Do as you are instructed and rest assured, I will do everything I can to help you. " The maid makes an irritating sound in her head. "It's terribly annoying to serve this slave of all people" she mutters under her clenched teeth. Outwardly though she gives a tight smile.
The bride, Wei Ying nods and smiles reluctantly.
"Thank you sister " his voice chirps melodiously, inwardly he is shaking in fear of what would come with this typical weird arrangement. He shudders to think what would happen if the King finds out about him. Perhaps he will be hanged for deception!
Busy in his world of thoughts he doesn't notice the carriage moving at a steady speed.
Upon hearing the cheers and shouts, he returns to the present and looks through the window.
"In future I may not have the chance to watch such a lively view". Wei Ying holds the carriage curtain tight, his emotions making his heart heavy with sorrow.
"Such a pity....."
"I would not have thought that one day I should become one of the Royal concubines of the emperor of the Glorious Ming country."
At that precise moment an announcement is heard, followed by drumsticks.
"We're about to enter the palace. Brace yourselves."
Wei Ying looks up and finds a shadow of a tall figure standing at the balcony of the palace. And he wonders, "Isn't that the Emp..." his wandering stops as the minister announces -
The emperor has decreed Wei Ying the title of "Jie Yu '' and conferred the palace of Mingyue!
Wei Ying nods respectfully and whispers in a mild tone, "Thank the emperor!"

At the Palace-
Rumour has it that this ninth princess of the Chen country is a rare beauty unseen in aeons. Would you not like to meet her on this special night?" Sushi- the Crown Prince ejaculated happily.
The Emperor Lan wangji refutes hastily, "a rare beauty? So what? Not interested. In my eyes, she would be nothing but another dry skeleton. Go. Let me deal with the royal study.
The Crown Prince shouts in excitement, "umm...Emperor, if that's the case, why not grant her to me? Afterall I am the Crown Prince and I deserve such beauty!

The crown Prince muttered inwardly with mischief in his eyes, " Yan Gui!(Lan Wangji's title) Do not blame this poor Prince. It was those old bustards who threatened me. But I'm hopeful it will arouse you well. And if you still don't have children with your concubines, they will convict me of seducing the emperor! Oh heavens!" He sighed. "I don't want that to happen, hence this is the only way! Forgive me your majesty.
"You do not like women, what does it have to do with me? I'm not someone who likes men. Therefore to save my innocence you have to drink this, your majesty!" The crown Prince kept rambling and poured the potion into the tea. The potion that will reinstigate excitement to the body of the Emperor.
Once the preparation of the potion was complete, the crown prince smiled satisfactorily. He made sure it was harmless to the body but effective at the same time.
The crown Prince served the emperor and the emperor drank it. All the pupils knew about it, so one by one making lame excuses they left the study in hurry, as no one wished to be the object of the emperor's desire.
They fled like their life was in jeopardy.
The crown Prince too prepared to live but before excusing himself he reminded, " Your majesty, every moment of the Wedding Night is precious. Please do not miss it.
The emperor Lan Wangji only sniggered.

Scene change-
Wei Ying was standing by the door of the concubine's special chamber.
The handmaid came in and reminded him that's it's late. The emperor wouldn't come anymore.
"You're tired today. Let's put out the light and go to bed.
Wei Ying holds his Rob tightly. He leaves a sigh, his face crestfallen. "You should go to bed too sister. Good night. "
Then Wuxian thought about the rumours about the Emperor not preferring women and it seemed to him the fact was true. "That's good news to me."
Somehow the emperor not setting his foot in the palace made him sad. Although he felt relieved at the same time.
If he is unfavourable towards women, Wei Ying thought, perhaps then he wouldn't have to think about how to keep the emperor away. Maybe he will live an uneventful life in the harem afteral.
But little did he know what doom was awaiting him, as the Universe laughed silently over his thoughts, promising to make his nights longer from now onwards.
Every single day of his married life was going to be eventful.
A King he thought was uninterested, would soon ruin his innocence. But maybe it is for the better. Who can tell?
Poor Wei Ying .....
But since Wei Ying was tired, he gradually fell asleep, wondering about the emperor and how his life was going to be in the Palace.
It was the middle of the night and the door opened with a bang!!!!
