Something great must have happened because I heard the screams of joy echo around the park. Everyone around me jumped up, throwing their arms in the air.

But I didn't jump, I didn't scream, I didn't clap. My eyes remained trailed on her, the way that she jumped, how beautiful her smile was.

"Yeah Ben!" She smiled clapping her hands together. "Yes! Good job! Whoo!"

I felt my heart pang, like a knife severing through my heart. It's cold blade twisting, slicing each individual vein. Who was Ben? Did she love him? Was he gonna get in between me and the love of my life?

The pain must have been evident upon my face. James turned to me, shaking my shoulder.

"Bae! What's wrong!" He snapped his fingers hastily in front of my face. "Wake up. Earth to Tristan!"

"Sorry," I blushed looking at my feet. "I just got distracted."

"You looked like someone had just hit you with a hammer."

"The pain was about the that bad. She called out the name of a boy. She called out to Ben." I felt my voice crack upon the last line.

"Breathe. Breathe. It will all be ok. I'm sure it's just a misunderstanding." He patted my back reassuringly. "Its probably her brother, and she came to cheer him on."

I felt a spark of hope ignite inside my chest. Maybe he was right and I was just overreacting.

The timer sounded signalling that the game was finally over. I heard the excited cheers of the crowd, happy that their selected team had one. I watched as she headed down the stands, towards the players of the game. She swerved between the players stepping around them, congratulating them on a good game. She looked up ahead, and smiled, taking one step closer to a tall, dark haired player. She took a moment to stare at his eyes, before placing her lips to his.

I took no moment of hesitation, standing in my place and marching out of the stands, I had grabbed my phone, car keys and wallet, any thing else that I had bought, remained forgotten.

I heard James' call as I stormed down the path, I felt the heavy thud of my feet against the cement pavement, I felt my heart beating in my ears. I was furious, she was supposed to be mine.

I found my car, ripping the door open, and slamming it shut behind me. I shoved the keys into the ignition, placing my foot on the accelerator. I drove, and drove, all the way to the path outside my house. I parked just across the road, needing a minute to myself.

I propped my elbows onto the dash board, pressing the palms of my hand into my eyes. I fought back the tears that threatened to spill. She was with someone, someone that she loved, someone that probably cared for her, whilst I was still oblivious to her name.

My heart ached every time I remembered her face, her figure, her voice. She was perfect, the first perfect girl that I had ever seen. But obviously my thoughts did not matter to either her, or the boy that she was with.

Oh that's right. She didn't know I existed, and it was gonna stay that way if I don't do something. But what would my actions do, prevoke an unwanted love triangle. No, I wanted her to be happy, not torn in two. But I wanted her to be happy with someone that would care for her, someone that would love her. I wanted her to be happy with me.

My phone buzzed on the dashboard next to my elbow, a picture of James doing duck lips appeared across the screen. I hit voice mail, not wanting to talk to anyone right now.

My phone beeped, signalling the start of a voice mail.

"Hey mate, look, I don't know what happened back there, but you look upset, so I'm going to leave you alone, but when you want to talk just give me a call and I'll come around."

My phone beeped once more, I threw it across the car, and it hit the window smashing the screen.

I didn't want to talk to anybody, I didn't want any body's sympathy.
