"Nightmare, please"

Beads of sweat dripped down her forehead, her hands too wet to grasp the sheets.

"Please let me go,"

Her heart spasmed so fast it hurt.

"Please,"

She heaved each breath.

"PLEASE." she screamed.

Fade shot up from the bed, panting. For a long time she sat in her bed, chest violently rising and falling, hair crazily stuck to her forehead, she clutched her chest, nails digging into her skin, hoping it would stop her heart from bursting.

When she finally calmed, she muttered with a shaky breath, "bok... shit..." Fade had had this recurring nightmare every day of the week and she had reported each little detail to Brimstone, but the sight of an open sea full of dead faces plagued her brain every moment of the day. She slapped herself; how stupid she was for thinking that being home meant her nightmares, her curse could be cured. She tore off her jeans and slammed them onto the floor, "Dammit, Hazal, you are not like this. You won't let it happen again." she spat as she marched towards the bathroom.

She forced the water into her skin but her frustration and the images from her nightmares still stuck thick like lard. She turned the tap off. Her body leaned against the sink, weight unsteadily supported by her elbows. Fade stared blankly until the last bead of water dropped from her nose and rolled down her chin. [The yellow-toned light illuminated the greased strands of her hair, the skin that folded over her underwear waistband, and where her hips dipped.]

When she looked at the clock, her back straightened. There was only an hour before she had to leave for the nightclub. As she glared at herself in the mirror, and muttered, "Everyone fears, everyone is scared. Even I'm scared." Fade took a deep breath, then smirked, "but I can make them fear even more." she hissed.
