[Fade sat hunched over the screen. Her dark clothing faded into the shadows of the sofa, except for the geometric windows of skin. The angle of Fade's features were illuminated by the blue light and it casted shadows under her lip and contoured her nose. Her hair draped along the side of her face and brushed against her cheek as people walked past.] Between moving bodies, the guards could see the woman. "The target is here." one of the guards spoke into his headpiece and they started shuffling through the crowd. Fade suddenly looked up. She could feel something off. Fade opened the pocket on her thigh and slipped the tablet in. [In her right hand, four fingers supported the tablet. The lines of her mendhi aligned with each other. Her thumb joint pressed on the other side of the tablet, sideways to see the delicate curve of her nail. Her left hand opened the pocket. Her middle and ring finger gently ran along the pocket cover and her joints bent to lift the fabric up. Her ring and index finger perked up.] She patted her hands on her thighs as she rose, and then began for the exit.

Just as she joined the crowd, the two guards pushed to the table. But all they saw was the seizing man and two glasses. Right behind their backs, Fade slipped through the crowd. The paw pads beneath her shoes sunk into the floor as she walked a confident but careful step. She walked through the crowd with her nose up, trying to see past heads. Her surroundings began to muffle with voices, but she could feel eyes on the back of her head. [Her expression dropped, and her bottom lip pouted]. The room seemed to still as she reached into her sleeve. She summoned a nightmare, its red light pulsing in the darkness of Fade's palms. She pinched the sphere and the dark matter snapped, a few particles bubbling from the impact. And with a casual glance, Fade tossed the ball into the air. Through the guard's eye's, the glowing ball convulsed and rumbled for just a moment before darkness entangled their bodies. The side of Fade's mouth quirked up and she continued toward the entrance.

Suddenly, she felt a vibration on her leg. Fade slipped her slender fingers into her thigh pocket. [She pressed the pad of her finger along the tablet she had collected, until she finally felt her phone] There was a notification from the Valorant Legion. She swiped a few times and her finger paused on the headshots of the alpha agents.

Fade walked out of the club with her eyes focused on her phone, scrolling through information. The blue light glinted on her eyeball while the rest of the light on her switched from red to silver, from the moonlight. The alley she had wandered into muffled the distant music through thevwines and bushes that hung from windows, and the thick grey clouds seemed like a suffocating ceiling. And the whole time, her eyebrows were furrowed in her concentration. Somewhere in her space, Fade heard a tiny, sharp sound. She peered down to see cream white fur. Now, the kitty's fur was wet and reflected blue from the lamplights. Fade's eyes softened. She squated down and let the kitty's fur slick past her cold hands. All her worry and restlessnes finally melted from her face. Fade's lips parted gently, "Hello, küçük."
