Scarlett's pov

I walk into my house too see my brother putting on his jacket. "Hey, sorry but you're gonna be on your own for supper. I got called into work" he says before placing a kiss on my forehead "ok be safe please" I say awhile waving at him "I always am" he says before shutting to door.

I sigh, Alex has a job and he's always out at odd hours of the night or days it's weird and every time I ask him what he does for work he never tells me, ever, and it's annoying but as long as he's safe and comes back to me safe then I'm ok with it.

Speaking of jobs, I have to go look for one. There's an opening at a club, yah I might be under age but I won't drink or anything and plus, my birthday is in 3 months.

I snap out of my thoughts and walk up the stairs to my room which it in the right side of the stairs, I walk into my room going straight to my mirror I have and lift my shirt up, looking at my stomach and pinching the fat I have there. Why can't I be perfect? Why can't I be skinny like all the other girls? Why do I have this much skin? Will anyone love someone with fat on their stomach?

I sigh pulling my shirt down and going to my bed, sitting down and go on Apple Music and play $uicideBoy$ playlist before going onto Wattpad and read Ruthless by fictionxwh0re (A/N one of the first books I've ever read and I love it) then I got a notification from Sasha, my best friend, on snap.

I clicked on the notification bringing me straight to her snap. 'Hey what r u doing rn?' It read 'oh um nun much tbh hbu?' I responded, getting an Instant reply from her 'oh nun much tbh butttt I am going to go job hunting cuz I need a job so I was wondering if you wanted to go cuz you said earlier you needed a job to so i was wondering if you'll go with me'

I think about it for a second before agreeing ' yah sure pick me up tomorrow after school how about that' I say getting up to go downstairs ' ight bet see u tmr' ' ight bet' is my reply before turning my phone off and head down stairs.

When I get downstairs I head to the kitchen before making toast and heading back upstairs, jumping on my bed getting comfortable and taking a bit out of my toast while I go back on Wattpad and start to read where I left off.

A couple of hours later I turn off my phone, putting it one the charger before getting off my bed and get dressed into my pj's, brush my teeth then jump back into my bed before falling asleep.

~~the next morning~~

I wake up to the sound of my alarm going off, I groan before shutting it off and laying there for a good 5 minutes before getting up and getting dressed in grey sweat pants and a a black sweater I stole from Alex.

I grab my phone from the charger before leaving my bedroom, going downstairs to the kitchen where I see my dad sitting at the table with a news paper and a coffee.

"Hey dad" I say as I open the fridge, grabbing the apple juice. "Hey sweetie" my dad say putting down his news paper and as I close the fridge before grabbing a cup from the cabinet.

"How are you?" He asks while I pour the apple juice "um I'm good, I'm going to go job hunting with Sasha later. How about you dad? How are you doing?" I ask, putting the apple juice back before walking back to the counter, taking a sip of my drink.

"Eh same old same old, and I told you Scar, you don't need a job" my dad sighs while talking a sip of his coffee. "I know, but I don't want to be a burden to you and Alex. I know I'm not but that's how I feel" I say while I drink the rest of my drink before rinsing it out and putting it on the counter beside the sink.

He sighs "ight, just be carful please" he says picking his news paper up and start to read it again "I always am" I say before walking out, of course that's a lie, I'm never safe but he doesn't need to know that, well sometimes I'm safe but y'know.

"Hey, Scar I'm leaving now so if you need a ride to school I can drop you off" Alex says, coming down the stairs. "Yah sure lemme just go grab my backpack, thanks" I say to Alex as I go and grab my backpack before we leave.

We get into his car and drive away. "Can I have the aux cord?" I ask "yah sure here" he says, giving me the Aux. "thanks" I say before playing lil peep,and honestly, lil peep, $uicideboy$, and Bluzy are my favourite Artist not gonna lie, so I play them.

"See, and this is why you're my sister" he says chuckling, I smile before we both sing horribly to the music. After about 10-15 minutes later we pull up to the school and of course everyone is looking I mean, why wouldn't they, especially if someone rolls up in a JDM car. (search it up if you don't know)

I step out, shutting the door before wavying bye to Alex before walking into school with everyone whispering about me and times like these I wish Sasha went to the same school as me but whatever.

See no one knows I have a brother because he's one; 20 years old and two; he went to a different school as me.

I get to my locker, unlocking it and grabbing the stuff I need before shutting it. When I shut it I'm greeted by Jessica who looked mad. The hell did I do? "So you're trying to out popular me hm? By showing up in a nice car" she says getting in my face. "Ok first off; get the hell away from me, your breath stinks like real bad and Second off; he offered me a ride so I took it cuz I didn't want to walk this morning" I say pushing her a little before walking away leaving her madder then when I first seen her.

When I walk into ELA I sit in my assigned seat in the back, a couple minutes later the bell rang making students fill in the room not wanting to be late, as soon as the second bell rang Asher stepped in and sat beside me.

"Hey" he says putting it backpack down and grabbing the stuff he's gonna need for this class. "Hey" I say grabbing the pen I forgot in my bag.

"How are you?" He asks "I'm good as I can, how about you?" I question back "I'm good. hey I have a question, can I borrow your phone for a second?" He asks, looking at me expectantly, I raise my eyebrow looking at him.

He sighs "please" he says with his hand out, I nod my head before giving him my phone "the password is 6663" I say, he nods before doing some stuff on my phone then giving it back to me.

"I added my number and my snap on you phone" he says looking proud of what he did. I look at the contact name before smiling while shaking me head 'Asher🫶🏼🫶🏼' I look at him "really, was the necessary?" I ask, he nods his head "100%" he says before turning around and doing the work he has to do.

I put my phone away and look forward and Focus on what Mrs. love is saying.
