The wife

Part 4

It's the day after we have made the arrangement and Maxon has already started trying to talk me into more guards. But even though I refuse that doesn't stop him from lining them up just below my balcony. Sometimes Maxon can be extremely difficult but I love him just the same and I can't really blame him. After everything that his mother went through I know he just wants to make sure nothing like that would happen to me.

"Good morning My queen." Maxon says before grabbing me by my waist and carrying me gently out of bed. When he has me in his arms I tuck my head into the little space between his chest and his chin, he finds this funny and lifts my head up so that my eyes meet his and kisses me. At first, the kiss is slow and it feels like he doesn't want to break me but then he deepens the kiss and turns around so he can sit on the edge of the bed. So I take this opportunity to straddle him and pull away.

"What do you think you're doing?" He says, trying to mask his disappointment with a joking tone to his voice. But it doesn't work out, I know him too well. So I give him one last quick peck before standing up and turning away from his gorgeous face.

"Well, I just don't feel comfortable doing that with so many people around." I need these guards gone!

"Don't worry they won't bother us" he responds quickly, most likely with a smirk on his face.

"Well still I..." Was all I managed to get out before he grabs ahold of my hand and spins me around, and he doesn't hesitate just presses his lips against mine.

"Miss how may I help you?" I hear someone say outside the door and pull away from Maxon. All the guards call Maxon your majesty or your highness, the only person they call ms is my mother! Which would mean she's just outside. I think Maxon thinks the same thing, and since he's always kissing up to my mom he picks me up and gently places me down on the stool just in front of the mirror. He picks up my hair brush and starts brushing out my hair just as three hard knocks come at the door one after the other at a steady pace. I laughed at his rapid Change in behavior and he just shook his head and me and smiled before yelling out
"Come in!" to my mom. Mother looks a tiny bit awkward as she comes in but once she sees that Maxon is in fact only brushing my hair she laughs it off and heads towards us.

"Good morning!" Mom says with such a warm smile. She's an extremely kind person even at the break of dawn.

"Good morning Madam, how did you sleep?" Maxon really has to stop kissing up.

"Oh very well, thank you for asking! What about you and America, did you two get any sleep?" Oh mom always snooping! I think it lightheartedly but that's when I realize it's true.

"Well America got plenty of sleep, but I celebrated with aspen and a few of the other guards."

"Oh well, then he must be in his bedroom. Thank goodness, I was beginning to worry I've asked all the guards if they knew where I could find him but none of them seemed to know. I ended up just worrying them more than I assume necessary." Mother never brings things like this to our attention unless she's really worried, so naturally I become tense.

"America are you ok? " I ignore him for the time being and turn to look at my mother.

"Mom, did you check with Lucy? Maybe they slept in, or she needed something and he went out to get it?"

"Oh yes, how could I have forgotten, yes that must be it! Well thank you for your time, and America don't you start worrying!" She looks at me with an understanding face before turning and heading out of the room.

"Max I'm nervous, what if something happened to him?" He looks at me with an understanding face and I know he's going to find out what's happened.

"I'll be back as soon as I find him, but America I'm sure nothing has gone wrong." I nod my head at him and he tucks a loose piece of hair back behind my ear before kissing me and turning to leave.

Sorry, I haven't published anything in a while and also for the short chapter I have been extremly busy and honestly forgot Wattpad was a thing. Thank you for your understanding and I will be publishing the next chapter soon.
