behaving like a good boy

Just within the blink of an eye, it was already August in Seoul. Summer and breezy, just the right time for a vacation.

Right now, Jimin and all his schoolmates were in the middle of summer break.

Some things changed slightly over the last month. That is, Jimin's parents finally brought him a good phone and he couldn't stop using it anymore. It felt so good for him.

But staring at the phone for way to long also had a downside. Such as, the pictures Taehyung kept posting on the groupchat.

Him and his boyfriend Namjoon, had gone on a vacation to jeju island, and Taehyung was sending them pics of literally everything they did on the island.

Jimin mostly groaned at them, rolled his eyes and sent heart eye emojis to be polite. But internally, he couldn't help but think about how he hadn't once spoken to Jungkook since the summer break.

"The sea looks so blue. I want to visit Jeju too." Jin groaned, rolling around in Jimin's bed as he stared at some of the pics.

Jimin flopped onto Jin causing the taller to groan even more, "He took a trip for five days and four nights. Can you believe it? My parents would kill me."

Jin hummed, caressing the shorter boys hair, "His boyfriend is in college, so I guess he has some money. Probably some part time jobs. Damn I wish I had a college boyfriend too." He sighed.

Jimin sighed too, feeling utterly jealous. He didn't have any plans for the summer, at all. And now he was just wasting time with Jin. There had been nothing worthwhile throughout the break.

"Damn what am I doing with life? I really have nothing to do this summer." Jimin sighed, rolling around.

Jin opened one of his eyes, staring at Jimin through it.

"But don't you have Jungkook? What's he doing right now?" He asked, cradling his head on one hand.

Jimin just rolled his eyes as he flopped down again, "Don't know. We didn't talk once. Not a single message." He pouted.

Jin just shook his head, "I thought he'd call you"

Jimin closed his eyes, wanting to sleep. That's what he wanted to  believe in the beginning too.

"Well it's not like that. There's no reason to meet during break. After all our relationship is just being fake lovers before a crowd."

Jin nodded, placing his head next to Jimin's, getting comfortable with his best friend.

"Jimin, maybe.. you're sulking because Jungkook doesn't care about you? You fell in love didn't you?" Jin smirked causing Jin to flick him on the head.

He got up, sulking at his best friend for saying such nonsense.

"Yah! What nonsense?! No way I'll fall for such a twisted guy!!"

Jin smiled, putting his hand up in defense, "All right. I'm joking. Don't get so worked up."

Jimin snorted, lying back down. Jin was probably only teasing him because he actually didn't know how emotionally unavailable Jungkook actually was.

Jimin definitely did not like Jungkook.

Suddenly, the sound of a phone ringing made Jimin jump in his place. He groaned, getting his phone from the nightstand, thinking it was probably his mother, asking him to come down to supper already.

He groaned even more when he saw that the phone call was from Hoseok. As soon he placed the phone on his ear, his eardrums were assaulted by Hoseok yelling into them.

"Did you see Taehyung's new photos!!?" He yelled causing Jimin to wince and slightly put away his phone.

"Oh. I did. Didn't you?"

"I did!! I'm super jealous and angry right now. Ugh the beach looks so pretty."

Jimin kept silent as he let Hoseok continue his angry rant.

"It's pissing me off so much!! Let's go to the beach too!! It will be awesome."

This quickly caught Jimin's attention. He had nothing to do all summer anyways, so going to the beach was definitely right up his alley.

He was suddenly super excited about it as he quickly spoke to Hoseok, "Oh. Yes, ofcourse. I definitely want to go to the beach." He smiled to himself.

"Awesome. I knew you would be ready to come. My boyfriend will also be there. So, you call Jungkook too. It will be like a double date." Hoseok laughed through the line and Jimin instantly regretted agreeing so soon.

They hadn't spoken in such a while, how was he supposed to force Jungkook to go to the beach? He was sure the devil boy hated the beach and any fun things out there.

"We can go next week to somewhere close by. Ah yes, that all gay beach at the outskirts of Seoul. I'll call you again for making more plans." Hoseok cut off the line before Jimin could protest.

Jimin sighed as he opened his message thread to Jungkook. There was nothing he could do now except beg the devil to help him out once more. Like a dog.

jimin:

jungkook:

what?

jimin:

woah 🙄
it's been so long
you could be more polite

jungkook:

you could also be a more obedient dog

jimin:

😶😶
anyways
hoseok invited us to a beach
next week

jungkook:

ugh.
so i have to hangout with 2 dogs now?
no way.

jimin:

you're sooo....
ugh
please?
for one day?

jungkook:

look whose behaving like a good boy
my pet minnie is getting better hmm
okay ill be there

jimin:

🙄🙄
okay see you.
bye.

Jimin groaned and rolled his eyes as he shut the phone and dropped it on the nightstand. He couldn't stand Jungkook. Even now the boy was so mean to him, and was literally treating him like a dog.

But as he fell back into bed and cuddled with Jin who had completely fallen asleep, he couldn't help but feel a flutter in his chest at the possibility of seeing Jungkook again.

It was probably nothing, just him looking forward to a summer activity.

Or maybe it was....

Jimin hit himself over the head for thinking something so stupid as he shook his head and fell asleep on his best friend's chest.

He couldn't wait for next week.
