CHAPTER (?): TOMIE(?)
»»---- ----««
THIRD POINT OF VIEW
"Yamazaki Tomie, huh..." The gentleman mused, caressing the hand that held his face with his thumb. The familiarity of the name was itching at the back of his mind. He swore he'd heard it before or at least, seen it written somewhere.
He brushed off the thought for another time and gave her a smile reserved for the ladies, "A beautiful name for a beautiful lady." He said as he tightened his embrace around her.
Tomie gave a hearty laugh and nuzzled her face into his neck, breathing in his scent, "It's just a name, you silly man." She said, looking up at him with a grin that brought warmth to his heart.
He looked up in thought and tried to briefly remember how her name was spelled. The man perked up, a thought coming to his head, "Are you a wealthy person, perhaps?" He lightly joked, making mindless conversation as he swayed his body with her, a buzz in his mind made up for the lack of music on the rooftop.
"Maybe," she chirped with a giggle, her eyes closed as she leaned against him. "Why, any debts you haven't paid yet?"
Dazai laughed at her words, "I'm afraid that asking for money isn't very polite, especially for a woman such as yourself."

An uneasiness settled in his stomach, looking at the lady he held in his arms almost protectively. He can't seem to read her, a detective with skills that are on par with Ranpo himself. Despite the uncomfortable feeling in his stomach, the warmth on his chest and face (which he blames on the sunset) feels stronger than the doubt in his stomach.
Most of all, he was excited! The hands of Death are waiting to catch him on the stone cold floor below them. His feet itching to just jump ahead.
"Dying with you is a gift far greater than gold, darling." Dazai lowly said, his breath tickling the reddening ears of his woman and chuckled, "Well, perhaps dying in your arms would be better."
Tomie didn't share the sentiment. Her body stiffened and momentarily shivered at the familiarity of the situation she was in. The hair on her skin stood up in response as her eyes widened in shock at his choice of words, "What...?"
Dazai was confused. He was sure she'd reply with a laugh or a smile. "What's wrong?" The man inquired, wiping a bead of sweat on her face.
Tomie shook her head and laughed in a daze, "I must be going crazy..."
