A Huckleberry Valentine

Chapter 11: Larissa Receives Her Just Desserts*

"I am sick of you and your friends trying to stop me from taking over the castle, so why don't you just..."

Larissa was cut off by a loud shout. "NOW!!!"

Everyone started to attack with their sweets as fast as they could. Poppy and Joy used their giant lollipops to try to hit Larissa and knock her off of her broomstick. Minty hurled a large blob of mint jelly, followed by a large candy cane, which she used to snag the witch around her waist. Chip and Carmella started launching ice cream cones at Larissa, and Bubbles blew a large bubble gum bubble in her direction. At this point, Huck's plan was working! Larissa was down and off of her broomstick, and getting pelted by sweets. This gave him enough time to whip out his Glittery Gold Ring of Truth, and place it onto his finger.

He raised his paw into the air and shouted, "Cue the sparkles, cue the music, Huckle Hero is on the way!"

All of a sudden, he was raised into the air and surrounded by sparkles as a large gold star with a red H on it appeared on his chest over his heart and a long red cape flowed out from his back. His roller skates disappeared from his feet and were replaced by his booster boots, his bow tie turned white, his paws were covered by white gloves, a red belt snapped around his waist, and the hearts on his hat band were replaced by silver stars. As he was lowered to the ground, he had become Huckle Hero once again!

"Time to end this sour nightmare!" he cried out as he took to the sky. "Booster boots on!"

Larissa was very angry. "Oooooh, that does it you morons! It's time for me to turn this place from sugary sweets, to sour licorice!" she hissed. Then she let out a great big cackle, before being cut off by a voice.

"Stop right there!"

"And just who in the world said that?" Larissa wondered.

Huck came flying forward and hovered just above where Larissa was standing. "I did!" he shouted. "Not so fast Larissa! Your days of devious deeds are over! I can't accept anyone who tries to take over a land as sweet as this! It's unacceptable and unforgivable and just plain not nice!"

"Oh really? And just who are you?!"

"I am the guardian who fights for love, happiness, justice, and stuff like that there, Huckle Hero! Allow me to punish you with love and joy!"

"So you're gonna make me stop, are you?" Larissa sneered. "Well, think again! This land is about to become a land of sour nightmares, no matter what you say!"

"Well then, do you think this is sour?" Huck asked. Then he took out a blue and red boomerang out from his belt and prepared to throw it. "Hucklerang...Glow... ATTACK!!" Huck threw the Hucklerang at Larissa, hitting her in the stomach.

"Ack!" she cried. "That smarts!"

"What do you think I was gonna do?" Huck joked. "Put you in a sticky situation?" Then he started to laugh and giggle.

"Don't you laugh, puppy dog!" Larissa roared. "I'll get you yet, if it's the last thing I ever do!" Then she shot a magical blast at Huck to try and curse him. But Huck was too fast, and he flew out of the way.

"Haha!" Huck cried. "You missed!"

"Oooooooooh, that does it!" Larissa sneered. "Time to put an end to this happy place!"

"Not if I can help it!" Huck yelled as he took out a bubble mixture. He dipped the wand into the mixture, then he started blowing bubbles everywhere.

"Bubbles?" Larissa wondered. "Oooooh, these bubbles are getting in the way of everything!!"

Just then she heard chittering coming from outside the window she flew in. "Oh, yes!" she cried. "My precious pets have arrived!"

All of a sudden, the bitter chocolate bugs from the cave arrived through the window to try to get their revenge. Huck gasped in horror upon the horrific sight. "Jumpin' Jupiter!" he cried. "I'm in big trouble now!"
