So the three friends raced down the road to make it to Clementine's house, but halfway through town, they were stopped by Wally Gator.
"Hi fellas!" he cried.
"Wally?" Huck cried. "When did you get here?"
"I was looking for you!" the alligator repiled. "I was down at the river doing some fishing and I found these!" He pulled out a set of familiar-looking gifts. "These belong to you, don't they?"
Huck looked at the gifts, and to his surprise, he recognized those gifts! The aquamarine necklace, the pretty hat with the feather, the box of chocolates...those were his gifts for Clementine! They weren't lost forever after all!
"Hey, the gifts I bought for Clementine! How'd you know, Wally?"
"Simple, Huck! Your name's on the receipt!"
"Oh, Wally, how can I ever thank you?" Huck beamed. "Now I have even more gifts for Clementine!"
"Think nothing of it, Huck," Wally said, smiling. "What are friends for?"
"Wanna come with us to Clementine's house so I can give all these gifts to her?" Huck asked.
"Of course, of course!" Wally beamed. "Let's go!"
The four friends raced through town, and soon enough, they arrived at a bright pink house with a big aquamarine bow on top of the roof.
"Well, here we are!" Huck beamed. Then he walked up to the door, and rang the doorbell.
Ding dong!
Just then the door opened, and there she was!
"Huckleberry!" she cried. "What a surprise!"
"Happy Valentine's Day, sweetheart!" Huck said with a small giggle.
"Oh, and I see you've brought some friends with you!" Clementine beamed. "Come on in! All four of you!"
The four friends went with Clementine into her pretty little house. They all gathered around the table and Huck prepared to show her all the gifts he had gotten for her, both the ones Wally had saved, and the ones from the Land of Sugary Sweets.
"Huck, did you get all of these lovely things just for me?" Clementine asked, looking rather shocked and happy at the same time.
"I sure did!" Huck replied. "I got the necklace, and the hat from the department store, and the flowers, and the cake came from the Land of Sugary Sweets. The boxes of chocolate were from both places."
"The Land of Sugary Sweets?" Clementine questioned.
"Oh it's the most beautiful place you could ever see!" Huck said. "There are gumdrop trees, a big lollipop garden, a big canyon made of chocolate, and a lemonade spring, peppermint growing all along the roads, and big bubble gum bubbles that float through the air. There's even a big rock candy mountain, and a big lake of soda pop and a whole island full of ice cream! It's the land of your sweetest dreams!"
Clementine giggled. "You have quite the imagination, Huck."
"But I ain't makin' it up, Clementine. It's a real place! Me'n Snag and Hokey all went there and got these gifts for you from King Jolly! He's the ruler there!"
"Oh Huck, you don't have to tell such wild tales to flatter me."
"But I ain't makin' it up! I really did go there, Clementine!"
The pink hound giggled again and put her paws on Huck's shoulders. "Well wherever you got these gifts, I certainly love them, and I love you too."
She then leaned in close to Huck and gave him a great big kiss. Huck's face turned bright red as he blushed, and a look of bliss crossed his face as he had hearts around his head. He swooned and sighed happily.
"Awwwwww, shucks!" he said with a giggle.
