I won't lose you again

Chapter 2: Will to love

Sunny laid in black space, where he would spend his final moments… in this hell.

When Omori defeated Sunny, he let his ego take over. Instead of getting rid of him entirely, he decided that he would spend his final moments in black space.

Along with that, Sunny was stripped of any and all emotion, so that he wouldn't have a strive to take control back. It was true: he didn't.

He laid in black space, thinking about his selfish actions. Furthermore, he thought about how he could have played things out much differently.

"why…. always….all…."

He could faintly hear some commotion outside, but Sunny ignored it. Omori had probably already jumped by now.

"It's hopeless. I was weak, and now… I'm being sentenced to death for it."

"He is right. I'm useless."

"I deserve this."

These thoughts swarmed Sunny's head as he laid down on the cold floor of black space, which was somehow colder than white space.

What was the point of fighting these thoughts anymore anyway? He was going to die in a couple of minutes.

"you.. because…"

He keeps hearing voices outside. Sunny, again, ignored these voices. They must be his life flashing before his death. That is what happens to a lot of people, after all. 

He laid down, and decides to take one final na-

"I LOVE YOU!"

The rest of the words were in short spurts and virtually intelligible. These three words, however, Sunny could hear clear as day. They echoed in his ears as if it was yelled right in his face. He could also very clearly recognize the voice.

It was Kel.

"He's never said that to me, so that can't be a memory." Sunny says quietly to himself.

Then he realized how he isn't dead by now.

Kel is trying to save Sunny.

Sunny was always fond of Kel, but unlike Kel, Sunny didn't have a childhood crush on him.

However, when he opened the door for Kel that day, something changed.

Suddenly, he always wanted to be around Kel. He didn't want to leave his side. Despite his weakness and malnourishment, he fought much stronger kids alongside Kel, hoping he could be of assistance.

Something… Something was different.

But hearing those words, something happened. In the span in a couple of seconds, he went from an emotionless husk to feeling almost every emotion possible.

Anger… happiness.. depression.. fear…

It's as if they were injected into him.

Sunny did not have time to think. Like Kel, his emotions took over. However, his emotions had a plan.

Hearing Kel's voice… and hearing those words from him.. made his emotions so strong that for a brief moment…

He took control.

Sunny opened his eyes, and found himself hanging off the edge of the hospital roof, the only thing preventing his fall being Kel's sheer will.

Without a second thought, Sunny stops struggling, and lunges himself back into Kel's arms.

He could feel Kel's tears run down his hair. Furthermore, he could feel the back of his head against Kel's chest.

That feeling… brought a strong warmth to his chest.

In the corner of his eye, he saw Hero and Aubrey running towards the two.

However, Sunny could not keep control for much longer. Omori was stronger.

His emotion's energy soon depleted, and he closed his eyes to find himself in black space once again.

But he didn't care.

He was alive… and he knew that Kel shared his feelings.
