Chapter 44

   Instead of human goalkeepers, the blue lock man from the test phase was present. You could smell Isagi's determination, he wanted to add Rin to the team.

   You got in your position as center forward, taking the responsibility of making sure that the other team does not obtain the ball. You sped down the field until you reached Rin. Despite your desire to defeat the man, you noticed that Nagi had a wide open shot and passed the ball to him instead.

   Just as you were about to pass, you noticed Aryu approaching Nagi menacingly. You decided to pass it to Isagi instead, who also happened to be open at the moment. The ball flew past the blue lock man and into the net, earning a point for your team.

   "Nice one, Isagi! Keep it up!" You spoke as you wiped the sweat off your brow with your jersey.

   "Yes!!" Isagi smiled, glad that you noted his improvement.

   Rin then glared at you, Nagi, and Isagi, "your level is so lukewarm, i feel like dying.."

   You kept yourself from arguing with the man by clenching your fists tightly.

   "You guys still think that fighting with this one ball is nothing but a sport.. right?" Rin assumed, "can you seriously just disappear? This is... a battlefield, and you are showing your backs to soldiers with guns. That's why i'm saying you're lukewarm."

   Rin kicked the ball into the goal from the kickoff.

   SHIT. I ALLOWED MYSELF TO GET DISTRACTED! You mentally cursed as you felt your blood begin to boil at your own stupidity.

   Rin continued to talk, but you tuned him out as if you had pressed the mute button on an annoying advertisement.

   You took the ball for the kickoff, i can do that too, pretty boy.

   You quickly obtained the ball and kicked it using all of your power into the opposing goal, breaking through the net in the process.

   Realizing that you had just demolished the red team's goal, you began apologizing. Rin stared at you, pissed off at the audacity you had to copy him like it was nothing.

   I see.. you're a sniper... Rin thought, the tension between you and him growing.

   The score was 2-1, your team in the lead.
