Hallie's POV

I zoned out whilst Jill was talking about the upcoming camp, which was probably a bad idea.

"As most of you have already noticed, we have decided to call up someone new but someone older than you think." Jill says motioning me to go to the front.

"Hi I'm Hallie Whitlock. I'm 29 and I play for Manchester United." I look at Jill silently pleading she'd help me out.

Before she can Kelley speaks. "Why have you never been called up before?"

A few murmurs can be heard around the room before I respond. "I've been called up a few times actually, declined."

"Would you ever play in the NWSL again?" Christen asks.

"I mean maybe, if they expanded to LA."

"Why LA?" Julie questions.

"I lived there till I was 8, hence why I'm here right now."

"Favourite US player?" Emily says.

"You're not finding that out." I smirk.

"Can I have a hug?" Mal asks.

"Of course Mal, you didn't have to ask." I say going over to her, giving her a tight hug.

"Dinner's in half an hour guys, just a warning." Jill calls into the room.

"I don't know about you guys, but I'm going back to my room." Carli says walking out.

Some follow and I look around not being sure what to do.

"If you want to go, that's okay." Ali pats my back before leaving.

Thinking for a second, I decide to follow her.

"Hey Roomie! Where are you going?" Kelley shouts.

I look around, unsure of what to say.

"She's coming with me." Ash says swinging her arm around my shoulders.

Kelley groans.

"Thank you for saving me in there." I laugh.

"No need to thank me, but next time show them who you really are." Ash smirks.

"I'm not sure what you mean." I lie.

"I'm sure you do Whitlock. Are you going back to your own room?"

"Yeah, why is that a problem?"

"No I'm gonna go to mine and Ali's." Ash says smiling.

"Have fun." I laugh as I get to my room.

"See you at dinner, don't be late!"

"I won't!"

Going into my room, I put a warmer hoodie on. Sliding the balcony door open, I take a seat before staring out at the city. The sun slowly setting, bringing more light to my eyes.

Zoning out for the next 30 minutes, wasn't really what I wanted to do.

Getting up, I take a photo of the sunset, heading back inside.

Grabbing my keycard I leave my room and walk towards the meal room.

Some girls like Julie, Carli, Becky and Alyssa were already in there.

Hearing the door open, they all look my way, smiling.

I put some food on my plate and head over to where they are sitting.

"Mind if I join you?"

"Of course not." Becky says.

"What did you decide to do after the meeting?" Carli says in between mouthfuls.
