Kirstie woke up to the sunlight peeking through her curtains. She groaned. She is definitely not a morning person.
She reached over to her bedside table and looked at her phone for the time.
Friday, 5/22/15, 10:00 A.M.
She slept for two days! Wow, that must be record breaking for her. She immediately got up and go to the shower.
The lukewarm water is enough to ease her tense muscles. She was thinking about him. About Mitch.
She missed him. His eyes, his hair, everything.
Satisfied with her bath, she went to the put on her clothes. Minutes later, she emerged from her room wearing a black shirt with a matching dark skinny jeans paired with blue converse.
She sprint down the stairs and was about to go to the kitchen when she heard her mom talking to someone on her phone.
"What do you mean you're short in staff? It's my day off! Okay, fine, I'm going, bye"
Kirstie heard a the beep of the phone and take it as her cue to enter the kitchen.
"Hey, mom! What's up?" She asked her mom, grabbing an apple from the fruit basket and taking a bite from it. She hungrily finish it and threw the core away.
"Oh, nothing. My manager called me, they're short in employees. I have to go, see you later?
"Yeah, see ya."
Her mom kissed Kirstie's cheek and went off. Kirstie texted Laina if she could come over and Laina answered with a yes and texted her new address.
Kirstie walked to Laina and Scott's new flat. She knocked and was greeted by Laina.
"Kirstie! Hi! Come in" Laina said, very happy to see her long-lost friend. Okay, maybe she's exagerrating but meh, what can you do?
Kirstie entered and was amazed and jealous at the same time. She was amazed because their flat is clean and jealous because she wish she has a flat like theirs.
"So, how are you?" Laina asked casually to Kirstie after they sat down.
"Oh, I'm good" answered Kirstie. They chatted for hours before Kirstie asked a question Laina was afraid to answer.
"How's Mitch? You know what, I think I will surprise him. I will maybe go to his house later"
Laina was about to tell her the truth when she was spared by Scott yelling, "HEY I'M HERE!"
Scott walked in and saw Kirstie. "Oh hey Kirstie! Wow, your still short."
Kirstie slapped his arm playfully. "Its just because you are tall!"
"I brought some food, would you like some?" Scott asked. "Nah, I'm going home anyway, I just came to say hi. So, yeah, bye Scott, bye Laina" Kirstie answered.
She went out of couple's flat. She looked at her watch and realized its around 12:15. She let the cool air touched her cheek and walked to the direction of the nearest coffee shop she knew.

Mitch was playing some random game on his phone when it rang and vibrated.
"F*ck" he cursed silently when his character died. He rolled his eyes and opened the message.
Hey, meet me at the coffee shop at around 12:30?
It was Kendall. His girlfriend. He sometimes wonder why he was even with her. Is she replacement for Kirstie?
He shook his head. He replied.
Sure. See you there. Love you.
(Believe me, the author almost vomit)
He put on the nearest hoodie he could find and went to the coffee shop.
He entered the coffee shop, the scent of the coffees, the low murmurs of people chatting and the sound of some proffesionals typing on their laptops greeted him.
He immediately ordered his coffee and sat down on a chair. Minutes later, his coffee was served and he drank from it.
A Daydream Away by All Time Low was playing on his phone. His neighbor recommended it to him one time they were talking through their window and he have to admit, its so good.

Somehow, his thoughts went back to Kirstie again. He is trying to imagine her reaction when he would tell her he has a girlfriend.
The song, without realizing it, already reached the bridge.
We never stood a chance out there

Without realizing it, a tear rolled down on his cheek. He immediately wiped it away. He read the text Kendall sent him. She told him that she will meet him at the bus stop again.
He stood up and hurriedly went out, not even noticing the girl who entered the shop.
He never realized it's Kirstie.
