"Uh, you look sad. Here, wipe your tears away. I assure there's no unnecessary things there" A voice break the silence.
Kirstie look up. Standing in front of him is her neighbor she saw the other day. Black hair with matching blue eyes. He's tall maybe 6 feet in height.
Kirstie glared at him. "Thanks for stating the obvious, Captain"
"Hey, I'm just being a concerned citizen here. And I'm just watching you on our house."
Kirstie scoot away from him.
"Oh, shoot. That sounds weird. Uhm, I mean I was about to go to my room when I see you in the sidewalk."
Kirstie nodded, she hesistantly took his handkerchief and wiped her tears away.
The guy sat next to her. "My name's Jeremy. Hi!" He offered his hand for a handshake. Kirstie smiled at his jollyness and shake his hand. "Kirstie."
"Wow! Its my first time to hear a name like that. Cool."
Kirstie chuckled akwardly. Jeremy grinned at her. "I'm not gonna ask why are you crying. I mean we're not that close yet so."
Kirstie nodded, feeling grateful. "Well, its nice talking to you, Jeremy, but I have to go."
"Yeah, stay safe."
Kirstie nodded her head and went to her house. She was about to touch the doorknob when she heard her mother screamed.
"How could you do this?!"
"Honey, let me explain-"
Kirstie didn't hear the rest of their conversation because she walked away. She doesn't want to her their argument. Not anymore.
She's tired. So freaking tired. She started to shake in an attempt to stop the tears threatening to fall. But she can't help it.
At the same time her tears fall, the sky started raining. How ironic, she thought, the skies feel my pain.
Kirstie continued to cry. Somehow, she managed to enter her house, unnoticed by her mom who was in the living room. Somehow, she managed to tune out the cries of her mom and desperate explanations of her dad.
She arrived at her room and entered her bathroom. She stared at the mirror. The girl staring back at her with big, brown eyes, pain, loneliness and sadness evident. Her bottom lio trembled. Her hair looks like disaster due to times she ran her hand through it.
I'm going to change. Change for the better. The Kirstie you knew, she'll be long gone, she thought to herself.
