Two months after Jin's wedding:

Jungkook's sock clad feet barely made a sound as he approached the kitchen in the early morning. Though his work as a tour guide and photographer had picked up and he received a steady influx of clients from all over the world, he still kept up with his morning job.

One of the reasons for that was the friendship he had struck with the lovely locals in the market. He enjoyed being there every morning. They made him feel welcome. There was just something about that place and the people that made him feel like he belonged there.

Every morning he woke around four-thirty to make a cup of coffee and headed to the market. After unloading trucks and helping the shopkeepers with a few other chores, he bought the necessities for their home. Then he would quickly shower and make breakfast before waking his lovely boyfriend with sweet kisses.

Jungkook loved to take care of Jimin. He never knew so much satisfaction and pleasure could be derived from these simple things. Every time Jimin smiled, he felt his chest growing warmer. He tried his best to make up to the two years of pain and hurt he caused. Fortunately, Jimin had promised him a lifetime to make up.

Love was like that. There was a pleasure in giving and taking. Only the ones who had experienced that would understand.

He smiled to himself as he thought about what he should cook for breakfast only to halt with a hand clasped over his chest when he noticed Mr. Park sitting on their kitchen table with a laptop. Jungkook almost jumped with a soft squeak leaving his lips. For a moment, he just blinked.

Oh, shit. How did I forget that he came to visit Jimin? Should I ask him something?

In the past eight months, Jimin and his dad's relationship had greatly developed. Their weekly father-son dates were fruitful. The old man was stubborn as a mule, but under that hard exterior, he had a soft corner for his first son.

Jungkook realized the two were driven apart by misunderstandings and miscommunications in the past. Mr. Park was just too busy to clear them and later on, they drifted apart. There were self-realizations and regrets. But at least they both had an opportunity to right the wrong.

Mr. Park lifted his head, sensing his presence and their gazes locked. Jungkook squirmed under his gaze. He coughed awkwardly and averted his eyes. They still didn't talk. Jungkook knew Mr. Park only tolerated him because he didn't want to lose Jimin.

Most of the time, the old man pretended Jungkook wasn't even in the room if they happened to be together. They visited Jimin's mom in New York during the weekend. Jimin refused to go without Jungkook and Mr. Park had no choice but to suck it up.

Jungkook supposed that could work. He tried to be silent and spoke only when spoken to. He kept the conversations minimal and tried to fade in the background. It was a little something he could do for Jimin.

Both of them cared for Jimin and he couldn't blame Mr. Park. After all, his family has caused more harm since the beginning. Unlike Jimin, his dad had to bore the full brunt of his grandfather's betrayal. So Jungkook minded his business. However, now being the only two people in the room, so early in the morning, he didn't know how to handle the situation.

It was a surprise when the man suddenly announced that he was coming for a visit. He refused to stay in the hotel Jimin booked. Jungkook thought he might want to see the kind of life they were leading. Even now his scrutinizing gaze was following his every move, ready to tear him apart if he found a small mistake.

"Ah, um...good morning?" Jungkook wasn't expecting him to be up so early. "Coffee?" he asked awkwardly and received a grunt in response.

A grunt. That was a new development. He chuckled lightly and went to make coffee for both of them. Mr. Park was a man of few words. At least he received some form of response. Jungkook silently made coffee for them both, packing his coffee in a travel mug.
