"What was THAT?" I whispered. I glanced around the camp trying to figure out what made the cracking sound in the woods.
"Sounds like we got company." replied Tesayne. "Could be just some animal foraging." He continued.I shrugged and turned back into camp when a louder and closer snapping sound filled the night air.
"OK, maybe not." Tesayne said, slowly removing his sword from it's sheath across his back. "I'll check this out. You stay here." warned my companion. I had no qualms about hanging back for a minute.
That is when two odd looking, bald men in ragged clothes and swords at their sides stepped out of the forest.
Teeth like vampires, but these creatures were not of our kind.
The evil grimaces on their faces were not a sign of friendship.
