As I felt the sun begin it's descent I was jolted awake by the sudden stop of the carriage.
I shouted out of the window with concern,
"Tesayne! Is everything alright out there?"
My companion/driver answered,
"All is well, Shane! No worries! We're going to stop here and make camp before nightfall."
"O.K! I'm coming out!" I assured Tesayne. No way was I going to leave the camp set up to him! If it's one thing I'm good at, even obsessive over, is neatness and organization. Besides, from my camping experience as a human kid, I make a damn great camp, if I do say so myself!
" Don't start without me!" I added.
I opened the carriage door to find Tesayne waiting to assist me down to the grass.
"You're such the gentleman, Tesayne." I quipped and took his hand.
"Must feel wonderful to get out of that cozy carriage." he said with one brow raised and the ever stuck smirk on face.
"Actually, yes! It gets pretty cramped in there, not to mention seriously boring."
I followed Tesayne around to the rear of the carriage where everything we were supplied with for the trip was packed up tight.
"O.K. Why don't I start unpacking only what we need for the night and set up our shelter, while you gather up some wood for the fire." I said, attempting not to sound like I was giving my companion orders, as he believed he was in charge on this Quest.
Tesayne may be a wiseass, but he tended to be over sensitive, I've noticed since being attacked by him, then dragged into this Realm and pretty much forced into being turned into a bloodsucking vampire to help out some Ancient and very powerful vampires, of whom I had no clue even existed on this planet! Never mind the fact, that I'm some long distant relative to some crazy Witches!
Yea, Life is grand.
"Well, we certainly have everything we could possibly need!" I said to myself.
O.K. Yes. I'm known to talk to myself when under stress and a tad scared.
Stake me.
Please?!
"Yo! I found some perfect logs and kindling, beautiful! Dry too! Should burn through the night. No problem!" shouted Tesayne as he hurriedly walked toward the camp I nearly had completed.
"Cool. If you'd like to do the honors of lighting it." I'll give him this one.
"Anything for the Lady!" answered my companion, setting to starting our campfire.

Boring update.
Next Chapter will be some action while Shane & Tesayne are having their rest for the night.........or are they?
