The fourth floor

Today is my first day at work. Im an intern at seattle grace hospital. Im trying my best to lay low because my parents are very know there. No one knows about me and im scared for what will go down when they find out. My name is faith Montgomery shepred, my parents both work at the hospital, Dr addison Montgomery and dr derek shepred. My mother is an OB and my dad is a neuro surgeon and recently hes been fighting for his spot as cheif. Ive also heard theres another woman in the picture named meredith grey. Shes a resident this year and shes only about 5 years older then me, 10 years younger then my dad since my parents had me very young and I graduated very early. I graduated from high school at 15 and college at 19. Then i took. A 5 year break from school to travel and get my mental health together. My parents had me at 14 and 15 and im now 24

At the hospital

"A month ago, you were in med school being taught by doctors," he said. "Today, you are the doctors. The seven years you spend here as a surgical resident will be the best and worst of your life. You will be pushed to the breaking point
"Look around you," he added. "Say hello to your competition. Eight of you will switch to an easier specialty. Five of you will crack under the pressure and two of you will be asked to leave. This is your starting line. This is your arena. How well you play? That's up to you."

Not the peppiest of all pep talks, but it would be a remembered one by many. As the other interns look around, i look up at the gallery where some residents and attendings are watching, mimickg the speach as if they had memorized it by heart. It obviously made an impact on them. But somthing was different, ad i looked at all the residents and atrendings, taking in there features i look over to my parents who are standing in the doorway of the gallery, both with looks of horror on there faces, my dads scrubs and hair soaking wet and my mom pacing back and fourth

I walk up into the gallery to check on them, all the doctors flooding out as they countuinue talking.
"Ummm why are you soaking wet dad" i ask
"Mind ur business" my mom snaps back quickly "jeez woman i was only asking" i roll my eyes "anyways i wasent asking you, i was asking my dad"
"Its nothing faith, why dont you go home for the day, you don't technically start till tomorrow" my dad says "fine but gossip spreads like crazy around here. Ill find out eventually you might as well tell me"
"Faith"
"Dad"
"Go home. Now please" he says in a calm voice "No tell me whats going on dad im worried" "Faith ur being fucking nosey it's annoying GO HOME " he screams in my face, leaving me shocked "fuck you" i flip him off and storm out, slamming the door behind me. I power walk my way to the locker room to grab my jacket. I sit down on the bench putting my boots on angerly  "what did i even do wrong?? Hes such an asshole" i yell my thoughts outloud "You good??" Another intern asks. I jump and turn around "i am so sorry. I didnt even see you when i walked in" "No its okay, sorry i scared you. Alex karev" he puts his hand out for me to shake, intrudcing himself. I shake his hand "faith shepred"
"Hold on. Shepred??" He says shocked "fuck" i mutter under my breath "yup.. assuming you know my dad" "yup, hes a total Ass no offence" alex smiles slyly "trust me i know. Thats the whole reason im so mad right now" "what happened??" Alex questions sitting down on the bench "He came into the hospital soaking wet and looking all stressed out and he was arguing with my mom. Dr Montgomery about somthing and when i asked whats wrong he snapped on me" i sigh "Wait Montgomerys ur mom??? Like as in addison" "yup. What are my parents just famuse around here??" "No no i just mean. Well i guess but i just mean my best friend is meredith grey and well im sure youve heard of her and ur dad. Meredith just found out that ur dads technically married but he never mentioned a kid" "ya ive heard. Im planning on telling her myself, she deserves to know. My dads such an ass for not telling her the full truth" i cross my arms "well thats if she even comes in today, we had a ferryboat accident and she was helping someone but never came back to work. But we found her jacket wrapped around a pacient. Baileys pissed to say the least" he laughs at the memory of bailey yelling about how irresponsible meredith is for not coming to work "I wonder if anything happened to her" i question "im sure shes fine. Hey what do you say we go to joes across the street. Grab a drink??" Alex suggests "sure" i smirk as he grabs my hand and we walk out of work and to joes.
