After Beomgyu's death Taehyun was torn. He didn't know what to live for anymore. He got his legs back so he could walk with Beomgyu, he smiled more because of Beomgyu's presence, and he felt love for the first time because of Beomgyu. And now his spring was gone. The one thing that Taehyun cherished the most in his life, passed on to the next life without him.
Taehyun cried for his love everyday for a year before slowly accepting what happened. Taehyun was finally released from the hospital because apparently his condition improved and didn't affect him as much as it did when he was younger.
He decided to visit the orphanage where Beomgyu said he grew up for some of his life and when he got there he noticed a kid running around playing with the other kids. He wore an eye patch around his left eye but the eye that wasn't covered was a beautiful gold-brown color that shimmered in the sunlight. His hair a dark brown with a slight wavy texture to it. And his smile, oh god his smile, one Taehyun would never forget.
This little boy was the exact replica of Beomgyu and seeing him brought Taehyun to tears. He asked the people that worked there if the kid was adopted yet but they all said no because of his eye.
Taehyun wanted to foster this kid and potentially adopt him so he talked to the workers and they arranged some things.
The first few meetings were a bit awkward. This kid was shy and a little harder to approach than Beomgyu was, but once he opened up he was the happiest kid ever. They enjoyed their alone time together and Taehyun introduced the song Beomgyu once loved to the kid and was happy that he liked it. Taehyun got to take him home for the first time since they've met and they stayed up watching the sun set over the hills and a blanket of stars replacing it.
"Why do you call me your spring?" The boy asked with curious eyes.
"Well-" Taehyung started.
"Wait! I wanna know everything!" The boy smiled and looked at Taehyun hopefully. His left eye in the open, shining a beautiful blue color like how a river would shimmer in the summer sun.
"Everything?" Taehyung laughed and the boy nodded eagerly. "Okay. For you, my spring, I'll start from the beginning..."
