Chapter 5: Years Later

**6 Years have passed**

Ahri POV

I'm finishing my make-up as I hear a knock on my door.

Evelynn: "Ahri darling we have to go to the conference."

Ahri: "Sorry Eve, I'm coming."

As I get up I turn to a picture frame that is on my nightstand.  I walk over and pick it up and smile.  It is a picture of Ryder and me, before we were separated.

Ahri: "Hey Ryder, I gotta go.  I'll see you later!"

I set the frame down and start to walk out.  Taking a few breathes ready for the day.

Akali: "There she is.  Come on I want to get this over with and go get some ramen."

Kai'Sa: "Akali you just ate."

Akali seemed to scoff and look somewhat offended.

Akali: "And when did that stop me?"

This caused us all to laugh a little.  I then felt Evelynn's hand on my shoulder.

Evelynn: "Are you alright?"

Her asking this made the girls all look at me.

Ahri: "Yeah I'm fine. Why?"

Evelynn: "Because it's written all over your face. You miss him."

My ears and tails droop as I remember Ryder being taken out in handcuffs and just smiling at me, telling me not to worry, but after it all I found out he was taken away, forced into some government program, only to be led to the end of his life.  I still remember the person who came to his parents house three years ago telling us that Ryder died on an operation.  His parents were destroyed, as was Evelynn and I.  We both tried hard to keep it together and help his parents, but it was too much, his parents moved away back to Ryder's hometown in Ionia, and I try to visit and clean his grave as much as I can.  I avoid doing it in broad daylight to avoid people vandalizing his grave out of jealously.  One thing I have learned is that even if you're dead, fans can get jealous and treat anything they don't like horribly.  I don't think I could handle that, he did so much for me and the last thing I want is his memory to be destroyed.

Ahri: "Sorry, just today makes 3 years.  It still hurts."

Evelynn immediately brought me into a tight hug.

Evelynn: "I know, I miss him too, but he told us to keep our heads up and smile.  So we need to do the best we can."

I could tell, Evelynn was hurting just as much as I was.  He was such an important friend to the both of us.  I then feel Kai'Sa and Akali come in on the hug.

Kai'Sa: "I didn't know him very well, but from what I saw and the few interactions I had with him, he was a kind person and cared very much about you."

Akali: "I thought he was a pretty chill dude. Wish we coulda hung out more."

This made me smile, I remember when Ryder and I just wanted to make friends and be the best we could be.

Ahri: "Alright, let's go.  I don't want to disappoint him.  If all I do is sulk I know I'd hear an earful from him."

Evelynn chuckled at my statement.

Evelynn: "You are quite right darling, he was always a go getter."

Ahri: "Yeah, LET'S GO KNOCK THEM DEAD!"

AEK: "YEAH!"

???: "Wake Up"
