Surprise

Well... That was unexpected.... I thought as I sat on a chair in Reiji's room. Yup. That room that I NEVER wanted to enter. How did things go like this....? Tho I didn't mind it at all. At least that gives me an excuse to not get bitten. Ever. I chuckled at my thought. New achievement unlocked! Winner gets unbitten nights. Unless anyone is curious enough to take the risk. I grinned while covering my face with my hair.

"L/N. I know that all this is completely unknown to you, but i believe that hiding your face won't be of any use either. I would like to know what-" Yup! That's it! I don't wanna hear you say that I'm a suspecious person... Tho I am. Kinda. "I apologise for cutting you off like this Reiji-kun but... I really have no clue about what happened to Ayato-kun, neither do I think I did anything wrong. I'm just as shocked  as you are... I'd really appreciate if you could stop telling me that...."

Reiji stared at me, his eyes holding way too much suspicion. He stood from his chair and walked towards me. I'm NOT gonna back down. Two can play this game. In a second Reiji was infront of me, looking down at me. I stood up from my chair, not breaking the eye contact. After a while (which felt like ages to me) Reiji let out a small chuckle.

"It quite surprises me that even though you know what I am and what I can do to you, you still have the courage to look at me right in the eyes and defend yourself. You really are quite... interesting." He said. "It still is quite interesting to see how you're alive till now, when you should have been dead. Long ago." Uhhhh WHAT?!?! WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?!?! My expression probably gave away my emotions cause the next moment I saw Reiji looking smug.

"What do you mean.... Reiji-kun...?" "Can you tell me about your encounter with Ayato again? That will help you to understand the situation." Reiji said as he pushed his glasses upwards. I nodded. "After the classes were over, Ayato-kun came to me and asked me to make something for him saying that he was hungry. I told him that I could make something for him later at home but he insisted a lot.... So I made him some mini pancakes and then after he was done with eating he.... uhhhhh..." Do i really need to tell you everything again?!  "Continue L/N" Reiji said sounding completely uninterested in my story.

"He... tried to bite me" I'll just skip the part where that idiot pinned me. Or more like tried to pin me. "And then?" He asked, his eyes giving away a hint of interest. Dude you think of me as your personal story teller or something?!?!  "Ah yes! And then when he bit me for about two seconds, he just stumbled back and started coughing out the blood. I thought he was choking so I patted his back but then he just.... Collapsed. That's when you came in." I said, my voice mixed with worry and innocence.

"Hm. And what do you think might be the reason?" Reiji asked. I just shook my head. If I had known that I could do something like that I wouldn't have been wearing full sleeve shirts and pants AND letting my hair down this entire time. He chuckled darkly."I'm really surprised that He brought you here. Just why.....?" He said, mostly mumbling to himself.

"L/N you... have a very unique or rather a very dangerous blood type." Eh? But I'm...O+... What's unique about that? "Let me explain it to you more clearly. You have a very high concentration of mercury in your blood. After running the tests it's quite clear why Ayato collapsed." "Mercury? But... Vampires like...you ....?" I asked with pure confusion.

"Is there anything wrong with us?" Reiji asked, sounding a little offended. Yes! There are ALOT of things that are wrong about you in particular. I just wanna go somewhere away from you to begin with. "No, not at all! But I thought those crosses and garlic stuff were not true..." I said, trying to defend myself.

He chuckled lightly. "You humans are really naive. Believing almost every nonsensical things. So to clarify your doubt, no, vampires have no problem with crosses and garlics, and yes, we do have some disadvantage against mercury. To be more precise, high concentration of mercury and by some miracle, here you are."

"If the concentration is as high as you mentioned, Reiji-kun, then... how am I alive? And... will... Ayato-kun be... fine?" I asked with fake concern. Ayato is the last person I wanna worry about right now. "Hm. To answer your first question, I have no idea. With this much amount of mercury in your blood, a mere human like you should not be able to survive...." he pondered for a while and continued, "And as for the second question, yes he'll be fine. He's lucky enough he stopped right away or else he'd have been dead." Reiji said with pure coldness.

Damn! You really don't care at all about your brother, do you? It's a good thing that Shu was born before you... That's the one thing Beatrix did right. I mentally rolled my eyes. "So... Am I like... a poison to you guys?" I asked, while trying to hide my happiness. "Hm. In a way, yes. But calling you a 'poison' is a bit of an understatement. You're more like a... Trap." He said, as he took off his glasses and placed them on a nearby table gently.

HOOOLLLYYYY!!!!! THOSE  EYES ARE SO DAMN PRETTY! You dumbass! You make me want to hate you but your eyes make me fall in love with you!!! Uuugghhhh!!!! Shit! ..... control yourself bish. I mentally slapped myself as I thought of the last statement. "A trap? I don't get it..." I asked with genuine curiousity.

Reiji let out a soft sigh and gently massaged his temples. "Your smell is... very sweet. A little too sweet actually. It's like you're inviting others to bite you." I frowned at the last statement. "But when they do, the game's over. It's like a 'Kiss of Death'. In simpler language for that little brain of yours, you are- or your blood is... highly toxic." He finished as he looked at me with curious eyes, as if waiting for my reaction.

I raised my eyebrows in surprise. It was the one time I was actually showed some real emotions. "So... Why do i have to be here....?", I asked carefully. Reiji shot me a serious look, aka the classic 'Reiji look'. "What do you mean, L/N?" He asked as he put his glasses on again. Aww man! I really liked seeing your eyes. Too bad, I guess...

"I mean to say that... If I'm a threat to you all then why do I have to be here...?" I asked, mostly to myself. Just what is the man planning?! Where is Yui?! My head started to hurt from all the unanswered questions. "Hm. I'm quite curious about it too. He sent us a... bride that later turned out to be... a grimreaper." Grimreaper, huh? I like that name. I smirked slightly upon hearing my  new name.

Seems like things are about to get fun from right here.
