My mind could only think of her on the way back home.
ding, dong.
I could hear Sakshi's and Saurabh's footsteps running towards the door. It's all for the damn chips, I thought as I saw their super happy faces while opening the door, immediately snatching the plastic bag from my hands.
"Mama, here are the vegetables! The leftover money is on the table!" I said as I kept the other bag on the floor and went back to my room to spend some quality time with just my phone.

Mama's POV
I turned the bag upside down to let all the vegetables and the custard apples slide onto the counter. But what came unexpectedly into my sight, was an envelope. An eerily familiar envelope. The shock makes me stagger back a few steps. A black envelope with beautiful golden design on it, giving off a dark, powerful aura. It turned the surroundings sad for a moment, to say the least. All the plants in the balcony had fainted, the surrounding air was suffocating, dying to kill me.
It was obviously, a threat.
With all the courage I had left inside of me, I opened the envelope.
'She's mine. Don't fool yourself.'
The letter fell off my hands, leaving the traces of its dark red pigment on my hands.
Dark red blood.
She already got to her?
******
??? POV
"Is it actually her?"
I asked, sitting in front of the waterfall in this dark cave, feeding the cute little fawn with my hands.
"Yes. It's been confirmed by the koonverts."
She looks a little too confident to be able to say that with a straight face. Ah, this bitch gets on my nerves.
"This is disappointing. She's nothing like how she was before. I'm no longer interested in her. At this point, I'll just change the pr-"
"Quiha."
Pang! Bullseye.
"What?"
"I've dug into her past as a human, there are still remnants of 'her'."
Have you ever had someone who would risk their everything for you? Not just their life, but their dignity, hope and soul. Watching that plain face of hers change into one of desperation, care and love. Needless to say, I've missed it a lot.
"Hmm... What have you found so interesting in the past of a mere human?"
"She's not just a mere human, may I remind you, Quiha."
This is getting real boring. I watch as the fawn stops eating and staggers on its feet.
"Alright, alright, get to the point already."
"She..."
I wait for her to speak as she takes in a deep breath.
"...stabbed someone. She almost killed someone."
A small smile forms on my face as I watch the fawn collapse on the ground.
