It was a misty night, a soft fog laid on the cool hills,

The soft wind brushed the tree's hedges, as the flowers swayed in the wind,

The only light left was the moonlight and the dancing fireflies,

In the mansion, that laid on the hill, their residents asleep, or well, everyone besides two,

As they were occupied stargazing, under the million star and secret-filled skies,

as they rested on the couch, which happened to be the only place without a roof in their mansion

They both wondered about just what was up in the skies

"I know... That it's just flaming rocks, but... What if it's something else-? Don't you think?"

"Well, it just might be, it just depends on what perspective you are looking at"

"Mh... It just always feels like there is something more, more that we don't know, it's... A little frightening, but, ... That's just how everything is"

The white-haired person rested their head on their arm,

Aimlessly staring at the sky, at everything, yet nothing exact,

"hahaha, have you been reading more of those poetic books as of late hm?"

The Jackal softly laughed

"ah... You've caught me"

"Oh, Bryan,- god, you really are just something dear..."

They laid restlessly on their shared bed, the night quiet,

Not being quite able to sleep, Inpu rolled over to Bryan, and laid on top of him,

Bryan only softly laid one of his hands on Inpu's back,

Inpu's head just so happened to be resting on Bryan's chest, and he couldn't help but notice Bryan's heartbeat,

Which made him remember the lonely nights, as he laid in his empty bed,

The soundless, sleepless nights, only having himself to hug as the quiet tortured him, taunted him,

But now, he had his husband right next to him, someone to turn to at nighttime for comfort,

He hadn't quite noticed just how much he missed and yearned for his heartbeat,

Just how much he loved to hear it, and just how calming it was,

But Bryan seemed to have noticed Inpu's complicated expression,

"Dear-?"

Bryan said as softly as he could

"Ah, it's nothing really, ... Just thought of the times you... Weren't here exactly"

"Hm... "

Bryan huffed

"Darling... Love of my life,- ... *Sigh* I'm not going to leave you, anytime soon... I won't let myself leave, ever again,... till the end of time..."

"...I've just never noticed how much I've missed your heartbeat...-"

Bryan hummed, as he gave inpu a kiss on the head,

His hand lifted to caress Inpu's head as well,

The comfort of knowing that Bryan was right there, his heartbeat, and his touch,

It calmed him,

He only relaxed more in the comfort of Bryan, in a way obsessed and addicted to the comfort,

He was grateful for everything good, for everything that lead to this moment,

He was happy
